Not according to one of the sites I follow. It's a mata of opinion (ha, ha, couldn't resist) Is Walcott a midfielder? Anyway Mata is certainly not playing anything like Wilshere's position.
OK, then, I stand corrected, 6 goals and 11 assists from a player effectively playing as a wide midfielder is not exceptional. Walcott has 8 goals and 11 assists from virtually the same number of games, is he also one of the best players in the league?
No, but Walcott has RvP, the league's best Striker, Mata has Torres, who's become a white Emile Heskey.
But stats are pointless. If we went by stats then not that long ago kevin phillips would of been one of the best players in the world.
What a pointless attempt to defend our negotiating team's failure to secure Mata's services. I was going by the endless commentary here on Mata's qualities. I assume that since you've been active here you've seen them. We have RvP as the leading scorer in the EPL. Numbers apart, how would you deduce that he was his obvious quality given we are third and unlikely to be higher? Same principle applies. Mata is in a team that has had no direction for one reason or another. That surely isn't his fault.
So your argument is and let me get this absolutely strainght. Mata is good because I think he is very good, even though stats say different. I can prove stats are no indicator, because when the stats showed Kevin Phillips was very good, I thought he was crap.
Your statement proves the futility of what you wrote in response to my post. Honestly Toledo and please don't take this personally since it isn't intended as such but perhaps you may wish to consider that writing less actually means contributing more.
I think he is referring to the published accounts which give a snapshot of cash in hand. It's published every 6 months and is on public record. Not a bank balance, true, but the trend over the last several accounts tell you that cash on hand is increasing - dramatically.
Some fairly worrying words from Wenger here. It seems he is assessing how we finish the year in order to determine his spending. He should have learned by now that it's a full season he needs to plan for.
I agree, I am not convinced either way with Mata. I don't think we would have employed him the way Chelsea have. I was trying to make the point that there is no certainty in football. You can't say Mata would definitely have improved us. Just like Torres was not certain to improve Chelsea, or even arguably Liverpool before them. When Liverpool signed Torres there was a lot of gnashing of teeth from our fans, on how we missed an opportunity.
Are you serious with this statement??? Do you think Rooney has helped Manchester United? Has anyone ever been signed that would definitely help their new team? I really don't understand your point here.
