    Liberty Stadium, Swansea

    14 - 04 - 2012, 15:00pm K/O

Welcome all to the match day thread for Swansea City versus Blackburn Rovers, a game both sides will be desperate to win. Both teams are going into this game on the back of 4 straight league defeats, both teams desperate not to make it a 5th. The previous fixture provided a bit of a goal fest, with Blackburn coming out victorious 4-2, the Yak providing the goods for Rovers. That though, was at Ewoord Park. Tomorrow's fixture will be at Fortress Liberty, with the Swans having one of the best home records in the Premier League.
Blackburn score for fun, but they also concede goals for fun. Swansea didn't leak many goals until recently, but also don't score many. The Swans defence will want the Yak taken out of the game and hope the attack can provide a goal or two.

Swansea will be looking to put right a bad slide down the table. Sitting compfily in 8th place, a dip in form with 4 losses on the bounce, has seen them slide down to 14th in the league. The Swans have managed 1 goal but shipped a dissapointing 10 goals. While not mathematically safe, the Swans will hope to win this one meaning Wolves nor Blackburn can overtake them in the league should they lose they're remaining fixtures.

Blackburn also come into this game on a bad run. Also losing the last 4 games, they came very close to drawing with Liverpool in their last game, but for a Andy Carroll late goal, breaking Rovers hearts. In the relegation zone, Rovers will look at this game as a must win and will undoubtedly throw everything they have got at a leaky Swans defence.

Regardless of the outcome, the game will without a doubt, be end to end with the both clubs lingering at the wrong end of the table.

    A few stats
Here's to hoping Swansea come out victorious to all but guarantee they're place in the Premier league. It's been a massive season with some great results. Blackburn will not make it an easy ride as they're not quite used to being in the position they are. My prediction for the game, 2-1 Swansea.

Good luck, and enjoy the game.

Well done Jackash for doing a match thread. It's good to see a moderator taking the responsibility, unlike that Scottswan, who's gone AWOL. :emoticon-0105-wink:

No idea what the result will be. Everything is equally likely.

Lol. Believe he's still moving home.

As for the result, if we can keep the Yak under control, I'm confident of a win.

Jeepers, when Scott said he was moving home he must have meant brick by brick! Jacks react to their dismal run with a fantastic 1-1 draw (snore)

Had a funny feeling we wouldn't get anything out of the QPR game, although I did predicate a win for us, just had that nagging feeling we wouldn't get anything.

Now the Blackburn game I do think we will win, Rodgers will give them a gook kick up the ass they need and I'm positive the Jack Army will make sure there's plenty of encouragement and I expect the Liberty to be bouncing, just as QPR made it.

So let's all get behind the lads plenty of encouragement and get those 3 points that will make it a " Beautiful Day".

    Come on you SWANS!!!!!!!!!!!

    Swansea City 5 Blackburn 1

The fans won't accept any more passing backwards. The players respond with a vintage display of attacking football. Graham (2), Sinclair (2), Gower.

    This is a true story.

At Blackburn some of the locals were kindly throwing missiles at us (coins, plastic bottles etc) so for that reason not only do I hope we beat them but hope the ****ers go down too. Also Wolves for the same reason.

In which case make it 6-1 with the rarest of masterpieces - a Leon Britton goal.

Blackburn CAN score, we have trouble scoring lately. They concede quite a lot, we are starting to concede a bit as well.

On that basis should be a fairly high scoring game, let`s hope we score more than them, even if it`s only 1 goal.

    Nice post Jack ash .

Swans to sneak this one,the Jack army to be the difference. If any player isnt up for this they Will soon know the crowds feelings, fear to **** up in front of our supporters should be motivation enough. Its going to be a classic swans game!

2-1 to us with last luck on our side :)

Big game for me today! I know I will get some stick for this but I was a Blackburn rovers fan for all of my childhood, not really sure why? I live in pembrokeshire and none of my family are from or support them. I think I just liked there kit? Lol. Anyway 6 or so years ago I went to my first Swansea game as my mates dad couldn't go so I went with my mate. It was against Millwall. Loved every minute of it and have never looked back. I know you should NEVER change teams but watching the swans that day just felt right for me. Never ever had the feeling I got that day and any other game I go to or watch on tele now before. It just seemed like it supported them all my life. I still have a soft spot for rovers but I'm a jack through and through now! Having only ever watched Blackburn on the tele through my childhood, today is the first time I will see them live. Hope it's a great game, C'mon you Swans!!!!

nathswan the important thing here is that you saved yourself from the darkside by following the mighty Swans, it could have been that you were a member of the blues brothers up the road and alas there would have been no hope for you, <laugh>

So very true. Swansea didn't get much media attention down here when I was younger so knew no different really. Everyone supported utd, liverpool etc..... Never a mention of swansea or cardiff for that matter. A lot of my friends follow swansea now but still support there "big" club before swansea. I could never do that!! Took me a while to get here but I'm loving every minute of it! Swans are my life there's days!
