    Hi all

My Leeds United fan mate has said to me Warnock has offered Snodgrass a new contact worth £150,000 a week. I have said to him the is bull but he wont have it and is saying its been offered.

Surely this cant be true can it?

Would be surprised if they're spending that on their whole squad...

He's important to them...perhaps they fear they will lose him if they don't get promoted.

More like £15,000 per week - must have mistakenly put an additional '0' prior to the comma

More likely 150,000 per year. There is no way leeds could afford that kind of money. I am doubtful there is many players in the country on that kind of money.......Someone some where has got a 000 for a brain me thinks.

West Ham players are all on big wages...many must be higher than our top earners. If true, shows what a problem Cortese will have keeping to a wage structure if in PL. Surely, leeds will struggle to pay this in the Championship.

No chance. If true (which i am 99.9% sure its not) then that is ridiculous. Doesn't seem like Bates cares about letting their best players go, so why would he offer Man City style wages to him to try and keep him. No way in hell is that sustainable in the Prem, let alone in the Championship.

Financial Fair Play rules become effective in 2013-14, which plays into Cortese's hands. It means that a club will not be able to pay out, in wages, more than it earns in revenue. Starting from this current season, for the next three years, all clubs will be expected to, at the very least, break even.

See how Cortese how worked things..? He's a bloody genius..! <laugh>

Of course that's not true. Ken Bates the tightest chariman around wouldn't dream of paying anywhere near that sum. It would be a waste of money. Definitely bs

The West Ham player contracts are also based on them going straight back up I believe. Non promotion would be disastrous for them financially

I think our main team have a different wage structure if we go up as part of their present contracts. Cunning plan...not only are they incentivised, but they think it looks very good until they get in the PL, see other teams wages and go, 'Wait a minute.' Too late says Nicola, you signed it last year.

Agree with others - more like £15,000 and that is still a heck of a lot for a Championship player!! Do wages really determine where a player ends up or do they examine other factors like the manager, structure and ambition of the club, players within possible club? I hope Adkins's summer targets think about the latter before the former.

He has got it wrong, it was reported in the papers he has been offered £15,000 plus captaincy next season of he stays, it will make him their highest earner!

£150,000 a week is about David Silva's wage. Somehow I doubt this news.
