Who we are is quite interesting and where we should go home to could be quite a moot point for many folk. What I have found out from my own family, my fathers side came from haggis land and he was a Jarra lad born and bred although I gather there was some back and forth to Nova Scotia, so I could be the last of the mohicans! My mothers side were farmers/landworkers in Northumberland and seafarers (Scandinavian in part) although she was Jarra born and bred. I have married a London Lass whose folk were Irish and French so heaven knows what that makes my kids. Generally I also reckon I have more in common with any hard working ordinary folk in any country than with the rich elite that by and large run and own this country for their own benefit. Just my opinion like!
This is me Hutchinson Recorded in several forms including Hutchinson, Hutcheson, Hutchieson and Hutchison, this is an Anglo-Scottish surname. It is a patronymic and diminutive form of the original personal name Hugh, itself Norman-French, but of pre 7th century Old German origins. It derives from the word "hug" meaning "heart or soul", with the additives "kin" meaning close relative, and "son of". St. Hugh of Lincoln (1140 - 1200) founded the first Carthusian Monastery in England, and the popularity of the name was at least in part, due to him. Amongst the many early recordings are those of John Hucheson of Sheffield, Yorkshire, in 1440, and in Scotland James Huchonsone, who held lands in Glasgow in 1454. Other recordings taken from surviving church registers of the 16th century include those of Agnes Hutchinson who married Thomas Cordell, at St. Botolphs church, Bishopsgate, in the city of London, on November 10th 1570, and Hanna, the daughter of John Hutchinson, who was christened on November 8th 1573 at St. Vedast church, Foster Lane, also in the city of London. One of the earliest settlers in the New World was John Hutchinson, who departed from the port of London, aboard the ship "Bonaventure", bound for the original colony of Virginia, New England, in January 1634. The first recorded spelling of the family name is believed to be that of Isota Huchonson. This was dated 1379, in the Poll Tax returns of the county of Yorkshire, during the reign of King Edward 1st of England, 1272 - 1307. Surnames became necessary when governments introduced personal taxation. In England this was sometimes known as Poll Tax. Throughout the centuries, surnames in every country have continued to "develop" often leading to astonishing variants of the original spelling. © Copyright: Name Origin Res Read more: http://www.surnamedb.com/Surname/Hutchinson#ixzz1rp6RoIMp
This is possibly the dumbest thread I've ever seen on not606 (and that's saying something). We've got one racist poster who actually seems to believe the public persona of the BNP and apparently lacks the mental wherewithal to understand that what they say and do in public is very different to what they say and do in private. Christ almighty, half of them have got criminal records as long as their arms and many of their crimes are racially motivated. I'm surprised Mr Wonderful hasn't gone the full hog and claimed Hitler was misunderstood. Then we have others blaming religion for wars. Do you honestly believe that if religion didn't exist there would be no wars? Religion is just an excuse warmongers hide behind. And to cap it off we have a poster claiming England is an island
Morning fatty. Another post worthy of your borborygmus-like output I see. How do you come up with such inaniloquent patter I wonder? Does it come naturally or are you just an old prick with too much time on his hands?
We're very tolerant here ST, if you're looking for a kudos-related ban for your GC pals you'll have to try harder than that
Morning sweet pea. Not seen you around much. Try harder to get banned from the Sunderland board? I'm sure I could manage something if I felt like it...
