If we're not supposed to post names, it's not really going to help posting each Posh player one at a time, as we're still not going to confirm who it is.
If we can't have the identity of the players in question, are we allowed to know (in your opinion) if they would improve on what we already have? I mean will they have a Koren like impact, or an Olofinjana like impact?
It will help if you two keep denying every name, there can't be many players left at Posh. No response to Joe Lewis yet though
That would make sense, cheers Re not naming players, how about an anagram or a crossword clue. That way you're not technically naming them
It's a bit early for that, the names that have been discussed are just targets and some options, we'll probably end up with completely different players to the options that have been discussed so far. I would describe the names mentioned as being decent players, rather than blow your socks off signings, though if we were to get them, our squad would definitely be improved over this seasons. Nick's gentle nudging for some additional funds could have a significant effect on our targets if it's successful, we should also bear in mind that the only two players he's brought in so far are Mannone and King and that wasn't a bad start.
I would agree on Paul Taylor after looking into his deal with the Posh. In fact it may pay him to stay there and do a Gerrard. See out his contract and then next summer go where he wants to go to. As for Vito it will all come down to what Vito wants to do and how desperate he is to come to Hull City. Nick wants him but not at any cost. Very few players use this regulation But it may pay Vito to do so IF Arsenal wont deal at a sensible price. Time will tell. Joe Lewis would be a great option as well. Good young keeper playing behind a poor defence.
Lewis would cost as much as Mannone and Arsenal are not asking for an unreasonable fee, we just don't want to pay it. I'm sure there's someone else who will pay what they're asking, frankly, he's worth it.
I don't think Taylor will get the option. As he's refused their contract offer he has been put on the summer transfer list. As for Vito, I'm sure that someone will be prepared to pay more than we are able to so irrespective of how much he likes it here he would go to whoever wanted him.
Not in a million years. I would be amazed if NB even considered him let alone tried to sign him. Looking at the Posh squad, IMO the only players that would improve us are Joe Lewis(GK) Grant McCann, Paul Taylor and George Boyd. We missed the boat on Ryan Bennett(now signed for Norwich in Jan)-(*thanks duffer and brown). City should have gone for him when he was at Grimsby*Town. stats. George Boyd 81 goals in 342 games for Stevenage/Peterboro/Forest(on loan) 2002 to present day. Paul Taylor has 11 goals in 37 apps for Peterborough. he signed on 28th Feb 2011 on an 18 month contract. Ends next summer. 2013.
Joe Lewis is a Free agent in the summer and strong rumours linking him with a PL move to Aston Villa as No.2 to Shay Given now. Whats a reasonable fee then for Vito ? £350,000 to £500,000 tops Yes but anymore is a tad rich imo. Especially when they dont want him. I wonder IF Arsenal would consider taking Simpson back in part exchange for Vito ?
Sadly you are probably correct on both. If the Allams are cold on such good deals then i can see both Adam and Nick walking. Who would blame them ? OR will the possible sales of Stewart and Mclean be the way City fund any transfer fees that have to be paid ? Interesting summer ahead.
