Henderson doesn't tend to deal in slow horses. <laugh>

Connections seem confident. I just think Hendersons horses aren't in the form they were at Cheltenham. Still fancy Darlan to be good enough to win the opener though. The other horse I fancy today is Lovcen. I think this race will require lots of stamina and I liked the way he stuck to his task up the hill in the Albert Bartlett. I think the flatter track will suit him and he should run a place.

I backed him at Cheltenham and have had a bit of 25s today. Here's why:

Same bloke who arrived at why Hurricane Fly wouldn't win the Champion. <cheers>

Why is Sprinter Sacre 1/10 when Big Buck's was 2/9 yesterday. Is he really that much more of a certainty?!

    8/11 Simonsig - Fill your boots. <cheers>

Which might explain why he's never won the GN. And why Shakalakaboomboom hasn't been backed.

    4.50 Aintree.
Does the Martin Pipe Hurdle at Cheltenham offer an interesting assessment of this race?
Five of today's runners contested that race, won by Attaglance, today's top weight.
Below are how his four rivals today fared behind him at Cheltenham- and how their weight avantages now read:

Art Professor. Beaten 3.75 lengths. 2lbs better off today.
Like Minded. Beaten 7.00 lengths 14lbs better off
Bourne. Beaten 7.50 lengths 5lbs better off
Ski Sunday . Unseated rider 8lbs better off

In the market, Bourne has been heavily supported and is currently trading at best price 11/2.
Art Professor is currently at 22/1 but is only marginally better off.
However, Like Minded is very interesting and had run a very good race over this trip at Kempton in December- before running second in a chase at Fakenham. This preceded his good run at Cheltenham where he made good headway without quite reaching the leaders.
His 14lbs weight pull with Attaglance would seem to ensure he beats him and the other three from the Martin Pipe.
It's also significant that Paul Nicholls puts up his good young rider, Harry Derham, who is excellent value for his 7lbs claim.
Of course there are many others in the race with chances, but the Cheltenham race was a better class event than the favourites for this race have contested.
At a current 39/1 Win and 6/1 place (Betfair), Like Minded is worth a squeak.
