I may have mentioned before that I went into Subway in Paris recently to buy a sandwich for lunch on the move and the young French lad serving me asked me where I was from.

When I told him he enthused about our Academy and what great players we produced. He knew all about Bale and Walcott so obviously our fame is spreading far and wide.

On the same theme I thought this was a great read this morning:

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...and-on-the-cusp-of-Premier-League-return.html

However I will continue to remind people that our great club has always had a reputation for producing gifted players it is a little more structured now.

Great read. I'm sitting here preening myself as if I am personally responsible:) I love Southampton and I love the way Cortese et al project us to the world.

Godders, I am shocked! Before I read this article I had to ask why on earth you visited Subway when in the culinary centre of excellence of the world? You have always struck my as a man of great culture and taste (the picture I have in my head of the lovely Mrs Godders anyway), yet when you are in gastronomic heaven, you go to Subway????? What happened to the millions of Boulangerie? Were they shut? Were they on strike? I'm now beginning to wonder if you are a one cultured Hampshire Bumpkin like my father. In fact, Dad, is that you?

    Now, I'll read

Godders, forget the food in Paris, eat what the hell you like; what an article and what a read!!! Thank you for posting this and starting my day with a real bounce in. My stride.

    "The Southampton Way"

That just sounds so good. I believe, I really do believe.

Is it my imagination or is Cortese beginning to sound a bit like Adkins? Which came first...the chicken or the egg?

It's abundantly clear that there's a wonderful culture at the club that is espoused by all of it's leaders. What a place it must be to work!

Think this was probably what caused the rift with Pardew. Great manager but more old school. Adkins buys into the holistic approach to running a football club...a marriage made in heaven.

I had my teenage granddaughters with me and we had a very busy schedule besides they were not prepared to spend another hour and a half having lunch when they were keen to queue to go to the Louvre. Subway was their suggestion.

PS Last time I checked I didn't have a son but with the antics I got up to as a young man I wouldn't be surprised if there are one or two that I don't know about.

    Ha Ha!

I like Guly; you like Guly.
I like Saints; you like Saints
I'm relaxed about tonight; you're relaxed about tonight

Now, question to really polish this off: are you devilishly handsome?

'southampton way',I remember Cortese saying this 2 years ago I believed in it then and I still believe in him now,it's great to have a chairman with such ambition and drive as this is what Southampton FC has lacked over the years, some people think it's far fetched, but they are jealous. It's clear to see that Cortese and Adkins get on like a house on fire, this club is going places.

Love the idea of the sign saying Southampton Way at entrance to Staplewood. Announcing it to the world.

That's right above the sign which says "no ball games".

Do you have a birth mark on your left buttock?

With regards to your final question the very lovely Mrs Godders:emoticon-0115-inlov seems to think so but her eye sight went a long time ago and I know the truth as I have to look into the mirror first thing in the mornings. The sight frightens the life out of me. That is why half my face is covered in grey whiskers.

Channon walked on H2O I confess to being a lost cause. As a child my parents, who were old fashioned Liberals not the new Tory kind we now have, forbade me to read it or to buy it because of its ownership and its connection to the fascists in WW2. I picked up the article from News Now which is a brilliant site for tracking Saints related news.

    Here is a helpful connection:

Surely there are some decent sandwich/fast food places in Paris for those like yourself on a tight schedule? The Mona Lisa is overrated anyway.

I want to visit Paris soon and I intend to miss the Mona Lisa on principle...there is so much more to see in The Louvre.
