Personally, apart from the fact they are Welsh (kidding), i dont mind Swansea or thier style of football,

they have clearly devised a style that works for them on thier resouses and have stuck with it. its been fairly syccesfull and apart from hoping we beat them, i wish them all the best...
its the prem, and its up to other taems to find a way to break them down and beat them. We did and clearly it can be done. I dont buy into the fact that they had a bad game at all, i believe that we nullified them and they got stuck for ideas and had no plan B. if you remember we also did it to another fantastic passing team not so long ago.?
Like i said, they've got a system that works for them, as have Stoke. We cant berate them for it, we just have to play as we did.
I remember another team that devised thier own style and were very succesfull not so long ago. Everyone used to moan but they beat some big teams along the way. finally the got found out and dropped down a bit...I think they were called....Wimbledon!!!

Agreed. Its insane some of our fans are lecturing mid-table teams on how to play the game! <doh>

    Stoke fan who..
Saw Swansea recently.. to be honest 2nd time we played them I was worried as they beat us quite easily early season. But, what was strange is how they pass it right from keeper and numerous times across their defence? We could, maybe should have scored more than twice but it's a dangerous tactic and they insisited on doing it all game.. Teams are sussing them out and IF you press and rush them eventually they give the ball away.

Nice to watch when things we're going well for them. I think they need a Plan B. No harm in playing it long now and again. They "might"? struggle next season but full credit to them so far. A good goal scorer and I think they would be OK though.

Well done last night <ok> More than deserved the win and you played very well.

    ...................................................................

PGF I think you have been "found out" it's not a critisium it's down to tiredness I think? YOU have done really well, all teams have bad runs we did and you may well find it much harder next season. I KNOW we Stoke did. Good luck and well done you have proved a lot of fans wrong by playing some great fooite.. the last 3/4 games? Not really by your'e own fans admission you we're awful last night. Credit to QPR they we're up for it and outplayed you and pressed every ball.

Good luck for the rest of the season. <ok>

Good post there Pottermouth. The only thing I would say is that pressing and rushing them isn't exactly the tactic needed. The last 4 teams that played them refused to get sucked into that and allowed them to have all the possession they wanted in their own half.

I know what you mean though in that when you have the ball near their goal and happen to have a lot of bodies in their area and THEN lose the ball, in that case pressing them causes them to panic because they don't have enough room to pass their way out of trouble.

Are you boys still as direct as you used to be or do you play more now?

WE ARE TRYING and in fact are at times playing very good footie.. We do still revert to the long ball to Crouch head down to Ether's or Pennant but like I said. YOU have to mix it up a little. Our away form isn't the best by a long way but looking forward to our game at QPR. You played really well at our place and against Liverpool, Spurs and Villa we have passed it much more than we used to. You have to adapt and slowly we're doing that... almost safe doing the maths anyway but I hope QPR stay up those who do deserve too simple as that.

And I wasn't trying to have a go at Swansea, just an observation the last few games they have struggled. I think? from memory Swansea had somethng like 70 per cent of the ball?? But hardly looked like scoreing. Which in itself tells a story. If you don't score it's pointless and the only difference between Arsenal and Swansea IMO is a couple of very good strikers.

Someone above said, teams playing them for the 2nd time this season seem to do better, they will because they as yet don't have another system, or do they?
Next season will be very interesting.

Well said mate. Maybe they have to mix it up a little bit more but fair play to them. They have been a revelation this season.

Looking forward to locking horns with you boys in the near future. <ok>

Just noticed you live in New-U-Lyme. I think I stayed there once on a weekend trip from Dublin to visit Alton Towers. Is there a Water Park there? Great fun.

Was in a queue to get into a Pub/Club when the Bobbies Van went past and they got showered with abuse! It was so funny! Great place, funny people. <ok>
