They play some really good stuff TBH but having listening and read a bit today it shows how fickle everyone is ... they have been fantastic to a man They were written off completely and I disagree that they are boring ... against us they are boring of course but overall they must be team of the year. This is a refreshing turn for football as i do agree that if and its a big if but if they had our front two or similar they would be outstanding. I do not agree that they will be relegated next season ... i believe they will build as long as they keep Rogers ... a lot of teams like Villa, Liverpool etc may even be looking at this style because it is all born of the Liverpool, West Ham and dare i say it QPR of old... teams associated with good football The midfield and back four of Swansea are very comfortable on the ball ... strength in depth however ... a big NO ... Tate came on and I swear that I was a better player than him ... very very poor and looked out of place with their improved game... he is a clogger and League One player at best. Another note: Taiwo is a big unit very impressed seeing him up close ... very good player who is settling in well
Team of the year? What a joke. Newcastle should get that, especially if they get a CL place. If its not them then its the 6 fingered lot.
That's why I baited you. To get a response like this. Couldn't agree more. The Swans have been superb. They will have to strengthen next season to avoid a bout of the dreaded SSS. But they'll be grand.
Newcastle very good but they are a big big club but I think Swansea because of the players and where they have come from and how they have played Norwich for sure again very good but the Swans style is a work in progress and a very brave way to play. Newcastle spent more on one player than the entire Swansea and Norwich teams they have performed well but not the team of the season for me
Hard to disagree with that but if you want a team that's come from nowhere, its got to be the Canaries. On the opening day of the season before last, they were tonked 7-1 at home to COLCHESTER! It looked like a squad of players dead certs for League Two. Then Lambert came in and astonishingly won the league at a canter with that same group of players. Astounding. But even more astounding was following that up with 2nd place in the Championship and promotion to the Premiership. Unbelievable. But even more unbelievable than that was following that up with perhaps a top-half Premiership finish. Incredible. But the most incredible thing of all was doing it all whilst spending (relatively) fu*k all in the process. Delia must think she has died and gone to casserole and vodka heaven. Its Paul Lambert's Norwich for me.
Funny old game is football. A couple of months ago everyone was saying how great and refreshing Swansea were. After a few losses everyone is picking holes in there style of play and doing the emperors new clothes on them. It's a shame really, Swansea have been fantastic. We're becoming a nation of fickle Ian Wright's.
The pundits were saying it was great but they were being patronising as in "oh look, a small team can keep possession" Theyve always been boring, even last season. i cant remember many fans fawning over them at all. its been the media who dont watch games and look at the statistics where they have 68% possession (but forgetting the fact they were only in the box 3 times all game) so they must be good.
Its been one helluva journey last few years! Any other year lambert should get it, but If Pardew gets Champ league, it makes for a glossier story, and Swansea despite faltering, play a style of football thought of as exotic and skillful by football journos, who love to moan about english players not passing through the field, and one touch play. Next season will be very exciting. We need a new striker, and a bit more in MF, but Howson is already looking to be a great prospect.
Norwich is a close second place ( it's in this season not the last twi but they have done superb) Newcastle have spent big money for sure and have steadily grown but third Swansea 1st what they do is harder than it looks and is all skill whereas I think Norwich have had a big slice of good luck along this road
Any team can pass along the back 4 and to the goalie, it takes zero skill at all. If they cut open time after time then Id agree its skilful but they dont create lots of chances and are stuffed if any team puts 10 behind the ball. Our 2nd goal proved we can keep the ball for a long time and then slice open a team.
Jeff I can assure you that what you saw last night is the exception not the norm! Rodgers seems to revert to a Sousa style of negative football on times, playing for a draw, and while last nights game cannot completely be blamed on Rodgers, our players have unfortunately for us fallen into the trap of believing all the media hype, plus there were shifts put in last night by many of our players, that leads me to conclude that their minds were on some tropical beach somewhere afar off. But I hope that Rodgers gives them a bloody good drilling, because there are still 5 games to go, and they have not earned their wages yet! You can only play whats put in front of you, so well done on a good win, but we were crap, and I'm not just saying that, and in no way does that take anything away from your well deserved win................ please log in to view this image

What narks me is that generally when a big team like Manchester United win its because they are a top quality team, sweeping aside all before them. Yet when lil' ol' QPR win there's always some excuse that the opposition played poorly or their manager sent them out with the wrong plan, rather than to play their usual game. We got a taste of that with the Arsenal game and more again last night. I believe the Rs (and Spunky) deserve recognition for the way in which they nullified the opposition's tactics in both these games. Its also incredible how a bit of extra confidence can turn a team around. I think the fightback against 'Pool made something click... as well as the undoubted hard work on the training field. The 'Pool game, albeit much much later in the season, reminds me a tad of the 2-2 Derby away game last season, in that it showed the players what's possible with that little extra heart & desire. The most important thing for Saturday (aside from keeping 11 men on the pitch!) is to not repeat the mistakes of the Blackburn and Sunderland games by going behind by 2+ goals early on and having to chase the game. If the Rs can keep their patient, pressing style then they'll be OK.

I don't mean this as a wind up mate....but do you get fed up watching so much negative passing or have you been more progressive than we saw last night?
Was a little fed up last night, but that is not the norm I assure you - what the posters on here have said is nothing new, we have had the same for a few seasons now from people who judge us on a single performance - we were pretty awful last night (but I am not saying that to take anything away from your win - you did a lot to make us look awful, the way you pressed us was superb and you took your chances brilliantly - was fearing 6 or 7 goals) - but believe me it isn't the norm. We are a little team with no superstars (because we can't afford them) and adopt a style of play that can be very effective and exciting when it comes off - last night it didn't! But feel it is a little unfair that we are subjected to some of the harsh criticism that comes our way when we have a bad day at the office. Some of the posters on here said they wouldn't buy a season ticket to watch their team play like us; Really?!! What is so repugnant about a team wanting to pass the ball? I thought this was a part of football and, to be honest, I enjoy watching it! Don't judge us on a couple of performances against you - and please don't buy into that Swancelona bollox - that is a media invention that a lot of Jacks are getting pretty pissed off with - if we had their money then of course we would pass other teams off the pitch and win most of our games; but we don't and have to stick with a style that makes the best of our meagre resources - so please don't hate us QPR because we try to play football - okay, maybe you would turn your backs on your club if you played like us - but I am quite proud of the way we have come so far in such a short time and will stick by my team through the good times and the bad (especially the bad!) Good win for you last night - and hope you get the points to keep you up (it's in your own hands which is a bonus) and rest assured that we will be doing our best to beat the teams around you in the relegation battle. You may think we are boring, but I have seen all our games and got pretty excited most of the time - I enjoy the way we play and, whilst some of you may think I'm deluded, try watching a few of our other games before you condemn us - some of you might even enjoy the experience!
I think Swans hit the comfort zone a few weeks back and have dropped their performance levels a fraction which in the PL can mean losing games you may have expected something from. I don't think there is anything to worry about but you do lack a commanding playmaker and out and out goalscorer that would turn you from a very good passing team into a dangerous passing team. Once teams realise that they only need to pressure you in their own halves you have to have something more to offer to turn the possession into advantage. I have no doubt Rodgers will be looking to find those missing links in the summer, if he does you should be able to establish yourselves as a top half team. If he doesn't you may be struggling next season...
