    Hi folks,
I've not seen a thread mentioning this yet, so I may as well break the news that Hamilton faces a 5 place grid drop for having to replace the gearbox, which, it has been discovered in the past 48 hours, has been found to have trouble. (Blast! I have put £3 on him to win in our betting game!). Anyway, iIt now looks as if a win will be far more difficult than I expected for him:

Last time they changed his gearbox I think the new one broke during the race! Not a good sign.

Shows poor gearbox management between races ............. <whistle>

The race threads are getting too big and cover too many different elements and stories for them to be coherent, with conversations skipping around all over the place.

I appreciate the mods trying to keep a tidy forum, but by doing so the threads are getting too big.

if there was gear box management problems then he would have had to change gearboxes more often and would have got more penalties, so your point is invalid

I already commented about this in the prediction thread but dont forget last year he won from 5th place after the first stops I believe, overtaking Rosberg, Massa, Button and Vettel. What will be interesting is seeing him in the Qualifying press conference especially if he does the fastest lap, as penalties are not applied straight after qualifying they are during the evening official fia press release.

Lewis better make sure he does get "pole" or this weekend could get very ugly for him if he has to start 8-9th on the grid, getting ever closer to the wild bunch of Massa, Maldonado, Kamui, Senna etc...

Jenson, Rosberg and Schumacher are the main threats for being the fastest here, he has to nail it again for a shout at the podium or face a ****storm in wet weather...

Isn't Massa that one who has never in his career aimed his car into anyone who dares to pass him?

Thanks Silver. You are quite right. My apologies for not being thorough enough in my brief time here earlier, I did not find it in the thread I'd looked at. - Which brings me to ASC's post:

I must agree that something feels wrong. Moderation is not easy but some of these threads include so many diversions (including wandering from the title's subject) that it I am finding it difficult to know what's been said where. As some will know, I use this forum quite frequently but it may be doubly difficult for any prospective new member.

Bet Cobwebs has concucted some sort of way to make it all Whitmarsh's fault.

There's a guy on JA606 who lives for that sort of thing. I think I remember him from the old BBC site, but he seems to have got worse since then.

Not really a massive problem for Hamilton, get pole, start 5th, good start up into third, win the race from there, just like the old Lewis.

The Mclaren is a fast starter, that's for sure. But so are the Lotuses that he's likely to be around if he starts in 6th. Both Mclaren drivers have their occasional moments of being victims to frustration, too.

Lewis has had many moments of succumbing to frustration but I'm with Ernie on this, I have a feeling we'll see the fighting Lewis giving his all this Sunday.

Well it should be a wet race so the race will start under a SC so what ever position he starts, won't make 3 places in 1 corner.

I still expect him to be fighting for a podium though, but I will clap if he somehow wins.
