I see we have Mike Dean for tomorrow. Got me wondering who are in your view the best and worst officials? For me Mark Halsey has to be number 1. Always keeps calm and keeps cards to a minimum.
Mike Dean is a good referee, IMO. Ever since he officiated at our 4-0 thrashing of Spurs [a score which actually flattered them] I've kept a wee eye on him. He's had his moments since, but is generally dependable. Similar result would be nice.
Enjoyed that joke comment off the net where prior to an important match for ManU, the article pointed out that, Sir Alex has left Howard Webb out of the United line-up this time.
I wish Colina was in the Prem, I'd love to see how all the primadonna's would have reacted to him. Just one look at them with his laser eyes really would give them a reason to roll around like they'd been shot!!
I agree about Collina, watched a montage of him the other day and the amount of respect he commanded from players is what is missing today.
Dowd is competing with Chris Foy as the worst referee in the PL this season. Whilst I do agree that he doesn't seem to take any cr@p from the players, some of the deicisions that he has made this season have been awful. Awful. And even worse, they happen far, far too frequently. Mike Dean is probably my favourite, for the reason I've just spoken about on the match threads (gives penalties for shirt tugging).
Howard Webb is the best. People over-exaggerate his bias towards Man Utd, whenever I've seen him ref them he has most of the time been correct and fair. Don't like Mike Dean, whenever I see he is reffing (on a live game) I always seem him coming out the tunnel and expect to see a red card and penalty as a minimum. Webb would have been my choice.
