    Good Morning Everyone,

The other day when Snodds was asked whether he’d be staying at Elland Road. He was firmly non-committal in his response saying that he couldn’t guarantee he’d be at Leeds United in five years time, explaining that “they (the club) have to show me some ambition”.
“Last season I had offers of Premiership football, the manager told me stuff, but I didn’t see much of it – whether that was him or the chairman.
“As a footballer everything here is first class, I love where I live, the only thing missing is the Premier League”.
Snodgrass went on to add that any decision he did make would have to be made with his family in mind.
    Jonny Howson was another issue raised by fans in attendance. Robert Snodgrass again responded candidly;
“We’re missing Howson. Weird that we never replaced him. How can you say you’re aiming for promotion and then sell your captain?”

He could quite easily wait til the end of the season, and slip out the back door, never to be seen in a Leeds shirt again, but he hasn't. He has taken a stand and has spoken openly about the clubs lack of ambition, and broken promises, nobody (except Parker) has had the guts to do this.....

Don't think we could have had an easier season to make an assault for the Prem. Literally, everyone has beat everyone. To think we are only 8 points away from the play offs but have lost 17 games is crazy!!!! What would have happened if we had kept Gradel and Howson?

Morning Elland. We lost Gradel because he wanted to be near his family in France. We lost Howson because he wanted PL footy now & clearly he felt we weren't going to make it this season. Gradel's situation is a fact of life with which I can empathise, as until recently I'd spent 20+ yrs travelling & living away from my family on & off. Howson is a product of modern Britain where the young want everything now, rather than work for it over time. That said, a footballer's life is quite short & they have to make what they can while they can. Good luck to him. He's gone to a good club with a very good manager. On the subject of which, I see Kilkenny hasn't exactly set the world alight. Silly boy. He should have stayed at Leeds.

Moving on. I think the next 10 weeks will define Leeds for a generation. We've got out of L1. Grayson took us close to the PL, but either wasn't quite good enough yet or just wasn't backed enough by the chairman, depending on your point of view. We now have a Manager with a proven track record of getting sides promoted. It's likely to be his last job & he will certainly not be short of TV work should he decide to walk away at any time. So will Ken back him or not?

I say he will & we'll see 3 or 4 decent incomings over the next two to three months, with about 6 or 7 outgoings. Who will leave is now a bit more confusing than it may have been some weeks ago. People on here have said Paynter, Parker, O'Dea etc. I still think Parker will either leave or be given one final chance on loan to show he has both a future as a footballer and a future at Leeds. As to Paynter, apparently Warnock is reputed to have been impressed by the short shift he put in last week. So watch this space. O'Dea divides opinion, as do Bromby & Bruce. AOB when fit can certainly put his foot in. But will his age count against him.

Warnock knows what he's doing, even if the last few results might challenge that theory. Heads down, seatbelts on, we're in for a bumpy ride over the next few months. MOT

You should be careful when using the word "literally". "Everyone has beat everyone"--this is everyone except Leeds. Just look at our home form against the top clubs.Southampton L, Reading L, W Ham D, Brum L, Blackpool L, Cardiff D, Brighton L, Boro L. How can we expect the playoffs with such dismal form as this?

    Morning all <ok>

Elland, you may want to edit the title of your article mate :)

I give up trying to second guess whats going to happen in the future. I just hope the club gives us something to look forward to over the summer by showing some real ambition

Maybe the title is an omen? As in, we need a fooking miracle!

The Snoddy stuff is great theatre. Surprised he has not been banned yet by Harvey.

Does Lorimer actually hold court in these Lormier's Bar meetings? Am surprised he did not try to jump in at the suggestions from a player that the club has not shown ambiition.

It looks to me (has done for a while but this has confirmed it) that Snoddy is off and that this lack of ambition is holding bck the current players. They simply can't be arsed. They are good players, but they are just not willing to work at it, and frankly, neither is the manager.

Again, all of this is down to the guy at the top. The culture bred comes from him, and him alone.

We have all seen it (except those with their eyes shut and their heads in the clouds or the sand whichever way you want to term it and their "we must support the team" while they sit at home rather than actually attending ER) and now finally the management and the players and even Lorimer and Gray are admitting it.

So why such a heavy hand against those that said it before they were willing to admit it?

666 Snod seems to be singing of the same sheet as Warnock & I think he will give him another year whilst Warnock is here. Heres what I posted yesterday

Warnock wants to do it in a season so its all eggs in one basket. He will try & convince Snod to sign for another year with that in mind & wont think twice about snapping up players on short contracts or even players in there twilight of there career IF they can still do a job. Think we will sacrfice a bit of style for a bit more of a battling edge. I dont care who trots out in the white of Leeds United next season as long as they can do a job & I trust Warnock to find that calibre of player IF he is backed.

Worst case scenario. We sell Snod to rebuild the squad, Bates then breaks it to warnock that the sum he is handing over must also cover wages, Warnock walks & we are left with nothing & wont even have a proper pre season to gel & Bates will blame Warnock for bottling it Then say the reason we didnt buy anyone is that we appointed a new gaffer to late. League one footy wouldnt shock me then.

It cant be a bad thing if even Lormier has sobered up and is admitting that we arent good enough, question is what is the board going to do about it? Warnock may not even last the season when the smoke and mirrors are dropped when they have there face to face chat.

Warnock may not even last this month out.

Most good players won't come just for a one year contract, but some may stay (White) although Snoddy has another year so why would Bates bother? Bates can just refuse to sell him, keep him on his current salary and if we get promoted then offer him a better contract.

Warnock is going to have a major bust-up over the wage cap, over the fact he can't get rid of rubbish players who are using up his budget, over not being able to buy any players, and oveer the reduced playing and management budget anyway.

I think he may get arrested for assaulting Shaun Harvey. <laugh>

    We can dream <laugh>

Well I suppose we got the best man for the job when it comes to an arguement & he will be fighting the fans corner as he can see like the rest of us not wearing white tinted specs that we need to throw money at it. Not like the Risdale era before that old chestnut springs up but spending within our means or outside investment or even dare I say it Bates pocket? <laugh>

If Derby/Forest/Watford/Barnsley can come here and look like world beaters on ticket prices 40% less than ours, what does that say?

It says we are being shafted pure and simple.

Warnocks no miracle worker. I bet if you look at all his last promotions he has been backed maybe not like Sven at Leicester but backed never the less. If Bates expects Warnock to do the same with us he will need to give him a fighting fund & not Graysons ickle pee pot.

The worry is who picks up after Warnock & will Warnock leave his own deadwood that the next manager may deem not good enough or doesnt fit the new team ethos? It really does feel like all eggs in one basket to me.

Its worrying how badly the club is being run but as we are in the black (slightly when we should be well in with our ticket prices) people are happy to accept that. As you said watford can out muscle us in the transfer market & the pull of being Leeds united simply isnt as big as Bates try's to make out, even if it was if were not paying the going rate then we arent going to attract to many quality players. Thats just common sense speaking of course & Bates has his own logic. his club, his rules, his money all funded by the loyal morons <ok>

Think I will go for a pint now, i've managed to piss myself off again!

Elland, decent signings would be those from the PL that we can persuade to come to ER & play in front of 30k each week once we're pushing for auto, or championship players who are the best players in their clubs but who didn't get promoted. So if Norwich too Bradders & Howson off us because they were seen as better than what they had, who could we get from PL or Championship teams who are better than what we've got?

Whatever reasons we've been told for our players leaving, they only left for one reason. The club didn't show any sign that it wanted to keep those players. They left just a little too easily for the reasons we were given.
