with our minds firmly intrenched on the fight for survival , i thought id turn the attention to two forgotten lions currently doing the biz for other clubs and showing late season form. mcquoid under Eddie Howe has been sounded out as a possible target in the summer and n'guessan scoring and getting good reviews from chris powell . mcqouid would command a good fee as hes young and under his former manager may bring what we never really saw consistency and goals for us . id get rid personally ...... thoughts ??? who else would you let go in the summer if we retained our status which looks more than likely , other questions that need to be addressed in the summer ....... puncheon in ?? only sub at saints, worth another go , harry kane ( loan again ) or a sneaky bid , possible another defender ..... give maik taylor a contract ? another midfielder/ striker .... i know its early but the club need to be on the ball and as they said not to leave their dealings late as we were lead on by the club with their list of targets !!!.
You'll probably be getting some more of our rejects who can't handle playing for a big club in front of big crowds but are more comfortable playing for a smaller club battling relegation season after season,
Sorry olof you did say BIG CLUB ..... let go mate , the euro adventures are over , crowds dont reach the heady heights and agent Warnock to work his magic next season as he has done on your current home record thus far .... keep dreaming ,day dream believer
I'd like: a goalie (and Taylor would do) two decent full backs, a centre half, a left winger (Puncheon would be a good bet), a creative midfielder, another striker or possibly two (Kane or, if Reading go up, Le Fondre) and a fit Tam. McQuoid can come back. I'd like us to dispose of: Forde, any three of our five current full backs (preferably Dunne, Stewart and Barron but they are all much of a muchness), maybe Ward though he might be ok as a standby, Racon, N'Guessan, Bouazza and sorry but Marquis as well. I'm taking Batt's potential on trust. Anybody got a few million up their sleeve?
I agree and I've already said recently get rid of Dunne, Barron & Craig. Think Fordey will stay though as all the times he's had **** performances this season or was injured with Milders covering for him and yet Kenny couldn't wait to restore him in goal - I hope Taylor stays and this is more than a kick up the arse for Fordey this time and we do get rid as Milders is a capable No.2 behind Taylor assuming we sign Taylor on a perm I can see Racon going but can't see N'Guessan leaving as he's only just signed a perm deal this season but we'll see in due course as ever in Kenny we trust. I just hope the club stick to what they say this time with JB saying we won't waste any time this time and the work will start for next season as soon as were safe this season
I think Barron is good cover for us down the left side. He's never going to set the world alight but when we face some of the brilliant right wingers in this division I like to see Barron at LM with Craig LB. It's all about adaptability, if you can play 2-3 positions like Craig and Barron you are a very handy squad player. The players we've already got are on low wages. there's no point getting rid of them and paying someone more to be a squad player, as they inevitably won't play. Having 3 good GK is a good option as has been proved this season. Forde was the 3rd best keeper in the division last season, and the other 2 got promoted! N'guessan on the other hand is absolute pony and Dunne will have a game like QPR at home where he marked Tarrabt out of the game. I wouldn't get rid of him as he is Millwall through and through. We've got rid of enough of those type players already.
I'm hearing that we are offering Maik Taylor the position of Player/Goalkeeping coach and are going to sign Pompey keeper Jamie Ashdown, if this turns out to be true it looks like Forde and probably Mildenhall are on their way out.
Olof do you mean that big massive club thats 4 places above us in the league ? what a reversal there will be next season eh!? when we splash the cash and pappa gets richer
Marquis can go, never rated him and Mcquoid may as well join him. Looked a decent player but always injured so no point hanging on to him. A couple of decent attacking midfielders like Townsend and Puncheon were to chip in with some goals. Some new defenders wouldn't go amiss as well. A solid defense will make next season far more bearable. Striker wise I think is actually quite good, hendo has scored plenty, one of the highest in the league and a hattrick of hattricks. Keogh and Kane also look solid and cause defenses problems. Realistically what are we looking for next season? Mid table IMO.
