I know a lot of you think I'm nuts. However, the events of yesterday really have me doubting the integrity of the league. A bloke in my local ladbrokes was convinced wigan would beat united took the 7-1 declaring wigan to be certainties because they have to fix the games to ensure a close finish for a certain tv company. The doubt has basically been in my mind since newcastle came back from 4-0 down vs arsenal and hundreds of bets were placed on that game been a draw during half time. I know that just looks like anti newcastle post basically it isn't I find most teams results to be suspicous. On the plus side well done to the gut who wagered 50 quid on wigan at 7-1. I have decided not to watch the 'wwf' premier league anymore. Does anyone else have suspicions/ doubts?

So why do managers get fired then if it's all a betting scam?
Also I'd like to know which match(es) weve thrown as Siddall states?
Does this also mean that, if you are no longer watching Premier League football, you will no longer be posting on the board of a premier league club? (i.e. this one) - that, I think, would be welcome news to a lot of people

I know the majority won't agree as everyone wants to believe the game is all above board but face facts it is not.

Pure conjecture - not FACTS - if you had answered this with something like "it seems liek there could be..>" rather than trying to spout that these are all facts then it'd make sense.

Are you saying that Sir Alex Ferguson intentionally threw last nights game and his players didn't try to win it? Or that the referee (who, incorrectly disallowed a Wigan Goal and didn't give a blatant Man Utd Penalty) is involved in the fixing?

There are no "facts" at all - it is purely conjecture as I stated - So Newcastle came back from 4 goals down - they played against 10 men most of that game so it's not that big a deal?

OK so some may have a conspiracy theory which is possible but you have to have hundreds of people involved to conspire at each game (Match officials, Players, managers and Board members) - Not like the recent Cricket spot fixing where only 2 or 3 people need to be involved - the whole club has to be involved - this is why I don't believe that rubbish

Marcusblackcat summed it up pretty nicely there.

There's only certain things which can be achieved by individual "fixers", such as throw ins, corners, red cards, yellow cards maybe sometimes an odd own goal (Richard Dunne, prime suspect) but to control the outcome of an entire match, would require the entire football community to chip in together with cheating.

How to you persuade a devout Muslim to cheat/gamble? How do players who have cheated then go and sign for a team abroad and still keep their mouths shut...is it world wide? Because if it is then it's not Sky that's controlling it, is it?

You have over exaggerated what we all know is happening, but because it is a minority that may get involved with this corruption, it's almost unnoticeable.

Wigan stayed up because they beat us (Stoke) I said at the time we never turned up and it looked that way tbh Had we won that game we could have finished top hapf which is worth another million quid approx but this OP is on the wind up, or the Waky Backy.

They we're good last night in fact they we're brilliant, and they have outplayed us home and away this season so I don't believe any of this.

But I am reading a book about Sir Alex called "The Boss"
Having almost finished it I have come to the conclusion that one or more of those involved in football as player's, Manager's or Directors even sponsors are..

    1. Honest as the day is long.

    2. As bent as a nine bob note.

Nothing or any one is perfect never has been, never will be.

It's a great read by the way, as I suspected Sir Alex is "The Boss" you want to know more read it because if I say anymore I might need a solicitor. <whistle>

i know we trashed you mate i was at the game....

all i can say is that if the entire PL was bent then stoke whould have won and wigan whould not be in the PL and sir alex whould have lost to blackpool who whould have stayed up beause "everyone loves them"
