Just wondering what people make of patrick viera's recent past. He chose us over man city both as a player and a coach and tonight (partially understandale considering hes a coach there) but his comment "So happy to see the Poznan back. Fans were fantastic tonight!" makes me think more and more hes switched allegiances to man city..or his pocket. In addition he keeps battling for the man city cause against man u (though his most recent comments may have been misconstrued). I just think considering all the club and the fans have done for him and how much they respect him i expected him to show i bit more loyalty to the club. He will always be admired for his role as an anchor in midfield but...i'm just not sure about him anymore.

  2. Always a legend - the best all round midfielder I have seen play in the PL.

You have to suck up to where you are working. I doubt anyone could say he isn't still a legend there.

  5. Different players - but yes in terms of what he meant to the club he is as fondly remembered as all of them. I remember well his debut. It was at that time that we really began to come to the fore and he was a major reason for it.

  6. In the days of footie WWTrois, he was the heart of our team that went head to head with Roy Keane. It was like two gladiators dragging their respective squads into war. Said this before months ago but Reyes I think it was who was getting a hard time from Neville I believe and in the tunnel in Highbury, Patrick Vieira went up to Neville and said if you want to kick him ( pointing to Reyes ), you're going to have to kick me first. It needed to be said that the report of that incident which I read referred to a cowed Neville.

    Patrick Vieira, definite legend <ok>

possibly but i still don't rate the guy on par with the likes of henry, adams etc. Great player and i see your guys point but i wish he would've chosen to come back and coach/play for arsenal when offered the chance.

Patrick Vieira is the sort of character who will put 100% into anything he does which is what we're now seeing as Citeh. Doesn't detract from all the great things he did at Arsenal, it's just the mark of the man. Fantastic player for the club.

  11. I would have loved him to come back too. His galvanising spirit may have rubbed off on the team. That might have been unquantifiably beneficial.I wonder if we could have made a move for him before City did. Again, it's all spilled milk now of which there seems to be much in evidence given our management. Shift them and bring in some new blood might be good.

Anyone that comes into contact with Manchester City moving from Arsenal seems to turn slightly sour... such is the case with Vieira. It will not change his legendary status though. He was always a rock in midfield for us.

Vieira will always be an Arsenal legend. Nothing can take that away from him. I was disappointed not to see him back at Arsenal, but I can understand why Wenger didn't bring him back, to be honest he didn't offer much for City as a player. His best days were well behind him when he returned to the premier league.

I'm hoping he cuts his teeth in his role at City, makes a few **** ups, learns from his mistakes, comes back stronger and joins Arsenal in a couple of years <ok>
