I'm lucky enough to be going to Aintree tomorrow so glad to see some early thoughts posted here. I wll be very interested in the going tomorrow, I landed at Manchester Airport at lunchtime today and it was pissing down. Showers around all day on the West so I am going to be looking for horses who like it soft (although I don't think we'll see heavy). After a BEST (Bacon, Egg, Sausage, Tomato) sandwich from the local butchers we're heading off about 9ish with the plan being to hit a pub right next to the course by 11.00. I'll leave the boozers to the boozing and settle down in the corner for a 1-to-1 ith the Racing Post and pricewise. I'll get down the the parade ring early doors and get some fotos of Big Bucks for the forum (may not be able to post them until the weekend though). Unthinkable that the legend will be beat so I am thinking about the forecast Big Bucks - Restless Harry I really like Pearl Swan in the 2nd race but may well end up going Grumeti - connections saying they will try and hold on to him longer this time which is what I thought he needed in the Triumph. I think Henderson wins the Bowl but I still don't know which one !!!!!! Fox Hunters I'll likely go for My Way De Solzen - a horse I really like. Either that or a pinstick or a no-bet I was hoping to be backing Bellvano in the Rummy chase but he went to Ireland and is no longer with us . I would like Astracad here but he likes a good surface so it may be Kumbeshwar's turn - ran a cracker here last year over hurdles behind Zarkandar Despite RV's post I do like Pepite Rose in the novice chase and the last I will need to discuss with Mr Pricewise tomorrow. Keep the thoughts coming lads
Have to agree, anyone hear if he's going in again? The sport needs more characters like this, pure genuine delight and hoping everyone did well off his horse when others would be trying to keep stum, he say's what he see's snd has a real passion for it.
Yepp agree STH we need more owners like him. Stick 1-0 Wigan mate. Odddy sorry about that - sure it wont put you off. I just find it laughable that she is 7/2 - AL FEROF is high class - one mistake in his career so far. That Supreme Novices he won was really good - and his 3rd behind Somersby is top form for a novice
Rooney off as well. We all know United though, 84th min equaliser and 92md min winner! And yes, you would have to back it, especially now as you would be raging if you didn't and it won.
http://m.espn.go.com/nba/story?storyId=7801502 Read this. In a concise article a blow by blow account of what is wrong with American sport. This guy earns over $16million a year.
Wouldn't want to be in the visitors dressing room now. Dreadful. Wigan deserve that. Hopefully we'll have contributed to Wigan staying up.
Quel it's only 16 mill a year, give the guy a break. He struggles to make rent every month at that alone. A few Dollars for representing his Country should be the least he deserves for his back breaking work!
2.00. Poungach in the place market at Betfair will do for me. Seems a progressive type, step up to 3 miles sure to suit and ground fine. 2.30. Saddlers Risk. Could be the forgotten horse in this race and the flatter track could well help. 3.00. Medermit. Another who will appreciate ( NOT relish!) the step up in trip and progressing well. 3.40. Offshore Account. These fences bread and butter to this fella and could be staying on for place money. 4.15. Silk Drum. Another "forgotten" horse. Won this race previous and back on a nice mark. The change of stables seems to have rekindled him somewhat and well handicapped in the context of this race. Another for place money...at least!! 4.50. Pepite Rose. Had 4 runs over fences and won them all. RP comments in running read; eased run in, very easily, readily and very easily. Winning distances;12l, 15l. 5l and 9l. Will have to improve to trouble al Ferof...which I expect her to do. 5.25. Trustan Times. Dark Horse!!!!
