  13. Well Toledo I can't say I disagree with most of that.

I would add Arteta as one of our most important players. He has been superb for us this year.
My expectation for next year is also the league title. CL would be a bonus. I can't say that we've had a long term strategy though - I think we're about to dump a lot of the players Wenger thought would come through and I think he will take a new approach in the Summer transfer window.

Well, even if we sell a lot of young players we have a whole bunch waiting to come through. There is Ox and Ryo, but also Campbell, Wellington, Frimpong, Miquel, Coquelin, Jenkinson, before you start getting into the reserves.

If you look a bit deeper there are plenty of people who will tell you Angha, Gnabry, Henderson, Ozyakup, Rees, Eisfeld and one or two others are going to be huge. These guys are finishing in the top three of the reserve league and they are really a U19 team. I think if they were playing anywhere else they would be breaking into the first team already.

TT every year we are fed the 'world-class youngsters coming through' stuff.

If it keeps you happy thinking one day we will win something - thats great.

For me its mostly never-never land.

Well I know people keep running down Ramsey, Wilshere, Szczney, Walcott, Gibbs, etc, but they have come through in the last 3 years or so. We arent going to get a team of 11 players bursting onto the scene, but if we get 2 a year and manage to keep them, that will do it.

My answer is, carry on thinking that we are going to sign a team of mega-stars on our budget without one of the rich teams noticing, if it makes you happy, but we have far more chance of winning something with youth than we do by picking up the scraps that the rich teams throw us.

but none of them were the names talked about in the youth teams.

  19. We dont have to settle for scraps.

Cisse, Ba, Cabaye, Ben Arfa? Why were they not 'noticed' and Newcastle stopped from signing them?

We do have a few good youngsters that may make it, but the players you mention are not going to win us titles in the next 3 years. Balance is key, and like BTDM says we are short a couple of top quality players that we need now.

Really, Cisse, Ba and Ben Arfa are top quality?

In that case our youngsters are world class. They are waaaay better than those 3.
