For some reason, despite Everton having Le Coq Sportif as their kit sponsor, they also do a Sergio Tacchini range in their club shops... please log in to view this image
Can't see us ever going with Puma- the big cat conflict doesn't sit well on the chest Nike have over exposed themselves: Scunthorpe and Barcelona.....it no longer has status. The preferred kit of minnow clubs and armchair fans Umbro turn out good kits and gear for Man City, Forest, Sunderland etc From a design and heritage viewpoint, I have them at no.1 Still think Kappa could do a good job for us, as they have done for many clubs in Europe and South America If Adidas revived their old City designs from 30 years ago and started to use proper crests instead of iron-on ones, I'd be happy to see them continue.
I'm quite happy with Adidas actually, it's better than that Diadora ****e we used to have. My only problem is the fact they change it every single year, as someone said earlier.
I'll take umbro and nike in that order... don't want any other tbh... if we had a **** brands like macron, fila or kappa (even puma) i wouldn't want to spend £45 on a top by them sorry. One thing for sure is we've had second rate adidas tops for the last two seasons... as in the template was a template used by Bigger teams the previous year. We definitely won't get a "unique" kit. we've had the same templates as stoke in both last seasons... we shall see. I was right in guessing the template of our away kit this season. I'm putting my money on this template based on this year goteborg kit. please log in to view this image Uploaded with ImageShack.us http://www.footballshirtculture.com/12/13-kits/ifk-goteborg-2012-adidas-home-football-shirt.html I would like something like this though. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/692/hullcityretro2.jpg/
You also expect all the amber bits on it to be the same colour but adidas can't manage that. please log in to view this image And that's after last year's tyre track stripes on the front being combined with a plain back. I think the last decent kit (for design and quality) we had was the centenary one from Diadora. Nice and simple stripes and it feels more like cotton than the crappy feeling things we've had recently.
100% agreed best kit we've had. Would really like umbro back but doubt it will happen. Teams don't often "go back" to past sponsors.
I know the club has been in talks with Xtep a sports company big in China and already provide Birminghams kit. The Adidas deal was a poor one for the club and one they regret they had to pay £20 per shirt and pre order 20000. Which is why they were trying to sell the barmby army ones at cost price.
Here's an advert from China, promoting Xtep's deal with Brum...
Agreed hate Adidas kit. Too much like Newcastle Utd for my liking. I liked the diadora gear myself. Umbro is also better than what we have now. imo.
Adidas seem to be worse than most brands for using the same template for 4 or 5 teams. I'm sure others do it too in a way but it seems to be particularly evident with Adidas. Our current kits aren't great but looking back at some of the Patrick and Diadora ones they were pretty terrible looking IMO. The best one we've had for me is the promotion season one. In fact I wouldn't mind a plain amber one next year. Don't Adidas pay us for the privilege of making our shirts though, a bit like sponsorship? So even if they don't give us the best quality shirts we will go with who pays the most.
When I read it, I thought the same, but their kits aren't that bad actually - they seem to keep things simple and don't bang their logo all over the place like Macron do. If it has to be a cheaper brand, they're better than some. Adam Pearson never really went for 'big' makes either, it was only once he left that we went to Umbro and Adidas, so maybe a move back to how Adam prefers shirt deals?
