Well you lost me on this one, one more Steve Bruce is deluded thread because someone writes an article on Steve Bruce.
Well i can't open the article, but i may be way of in what the article contains......... Geordie roots, Not given enough time It's his team and so on? Probably copied by some journo from a previous article cos he's got no stories.
Although a decent well wrote article, the author is only repeating everything that has been said many,many times on here ,maybe in a less articulate way

We didn't want rid of him because of his jawdee roots, it's because he was crap, hands up all those who still revere St Bob Stokoe, he had jawdee roots, no-one wanted rid of him, because had a degree of success, (the FA cup win 1973), then promotion, so no Stevie boy, it wasn't your jawdee roots, it was just you, get off your high horse & accept what happened. At any other club you would have been sacked long before you were.

Us Sunderland fans hate people from Newcastle with a passion. That's why we built a statue to one outside our stadium. That's why every Sunderland fan went into mourning when Sir Bobby died. We don't hate Geordies because of where they are from, we hate some of them for their delusions - and Steve is turning into one of 'those' Geordies the more he goes on about being sacked because of his roots. I just wish he would get another job somewhere so he can finally shut the **** up and get on with life as we are without him.
I doubt Steve ever really supported NUFC anyway. I think he's really had only one love in his life: Man Utd.
I find this thread an embarrassment to Sunderland fans, comment after comment about how that nasty Bruce should keep his mouth shut, then you read the OP and its not Steve Bruce saying a thing, its someone saying what he thinks of Bruce. Bruce came, did some good things, failed and was sacked. He was sacked for his results and all he says, when he is asked, is that when it started going wrong his Geordie roots became an issue, he is spot on. I read thread after thread, not saying he is failing, he must go but the fat Geordie **** should go, even how he threw the derbies because of his past. Some of you really should get real.
I don't hate the bloke but I think he's making a bit of an idiot of himself - he always says the reasons behind his sacking was the fact that he was a geordie but he never mentions how bad his record in 2011 was! I did have a bit of sympathy for him but it is all but gone now
I have never seen him say that, he does say that when it turned, results did not go his way, his Geordie roots became an issue with a minority of fans and they did.
