Following on from the "League 1 is fun thread" what if anything will you miss about the Championship? Personally I'm looking forward to not seeing so much of Poyet and Ferguson jnr!
I think you'll miss the consistant success. You're not likely to be top of the Premier League this time next season, you'll have done well if your 12th.
Undoubtedly anyone would share that sentiment. But I'd still prefer to have a League One team than no team at all.
If we go up, I'll miss winning nearly all our home games. I already miss being able to get a Bovril at half time, due to increased gates. And I'll definately miss most of the games being played at 3.00pm on a Saturday.
That's' true Archers. The upside for an exile like me though is that we will probably be televised more.
I know we are all but there, but don't count your chickens yet. If there is such a thing a fate then I don't want to tempt it. It's a fair point by MAJR though. We are used to winning games now, and when we draw a game its often 'end of the world' stuff. The last 3 seasons we have won a lot of games, and it will be completely different in the PL if we get there. We will be the underdogs in most/all the games we play, which will be a bit of a change. I'll probably miss Claridge and FLS and his assessment of our games. To be fair to the guy he clearly watches the games and talks a lot of sense. I'm not looking forward to the sensationalism of MOTD etc if we get to the promised land.
Yep, I nearly started counting the other day and had to stop myself. Also MAJR does make a few good points. I too will miss Claridge and his honest assessments, and I'm not looking forward to being last on MOTD, whether we are the best match or not. All IFs, of course. Plus, as I've said before, if I could vote away the Premier League, and the hype, I'd do it in a heartbeat.
This season has seen me warm to Steve Claridge. But isn't the Football League Show being axed? In which case everyone'll miss it.
I'll miss the winning consistant games for sure.. But with the ambitions of the club.. The lure of new players to our clubs will be something that's just as exciting!
Nothing. The Prem will be tough, but let's not kid ouirselves ... it is where we want to be. Playing and achieving at the highest level. Don't care if we have years of relegation scraps, it is back where I want us to be.
I'll miss the unpredictability. This league (next to L1) is so exciting because anyone can beat anyone.
I shall miss the relatively happy tone on this board, due to Saints winning more games than they lose. Even so, you would think that we had been relegated to look at some of the teeth-gnashing and navel-gazing which happens on here after one unconvincing performance! We are bound to win fewer matches, and I am sure we would all settle for 50% right now if it was offered. And I can hardly wait for the, "Adkins has been great for us, but he just doesn't have the tactical nous for the Premiership" thread. The progress has been remarkable, but now we have almost reached our objective it will be much slower if we are doing it the right way. It's been fun on the bus-I hope we can maintain our sense of humour when it is stuck in traffic.
It wouldn't be a bad idea if, over the summer, you mods composed another sticky post of advice on how to behave 5 minutes after a loss of a football match. The advised intake of breath; the clearing of the mind before the fingers type out the vitriol that is immediately flamed, denied, or just brazened out with a heels-dug-in attitude; the reeling in of those far too oft written and later regretted throwaways, such as Adkins OUT, or Cortese OUT, or even Lambert is **** and always has been. We don't want to go there, do we..? Of course, what I'd like to see is... blimey, spanked Liverpool today or Manure won't look forward to coming here after that tonking. But I fear that kind of post won't happen, at least not for a fair while or a good few seasons, and even that will probably be down to how much Nicola wants it. The best we can do is support him.
IF, IF, IF we go up, I will miss this: "We're top of the league, we're top of the leaaaague, we are Southampton, we're top of the league!" No7
The online highlights on the BBC. But everyone is losing them as the Beeb are dropping this next season. Football League show has one more season to run. sauce - end of this http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...-over-lack-of-coverage-in-holiday-period.html
