Morning all. I'll believe Snoddy is going when I see it on the website. But I agree with one of the comments above. Much will depend on who Warnock brings in & what sort of a squad we have for next season. If Snoddy believes that the players coming in will allow us to challenge for auto, then he'll probably stay. What would also help is him playing on the right & cutting inside defenders, which is where he seems happier. Time will tell. But this season can't end soon enough. Surely we can beat Posh on Saturday to at least lift some of the gloom.
I think the writing is on the wall, it seems far to outspoken to suggest he will stay. "Warnock will build a squad on Championship wages" suggesting he feels we will never be anything better than a Championship squad and the kind of calibre we can expect Warnock to bring in if the funding isn't there.
Been sniffing around and found a couple more Snodgrass Quotes: Snodgrass: Unsure what the future holds, will sit down at the end of the season & listen to the clubs plans. Snodgrass: Asked if he's staying - "I can't sit here & tell you I'll be here in 5 years. They've got to show me they've got ambition" Also found an unrelated quote from Warnock: “Snoddy is one player I would like to see at the club next season. We can build a team around him and that is what I want to do.” “He is out of contract next summer and I have had talks with his agent about signing a new contract." “I just want him to give me one full season to try to get the club promoted and if I don’t do it, I would be happy to have a clause inserted in any new deal saying he can leave for a set fee.
I was thinking along these lines. What Snoddy was saying suggested to me that he would definitely consider staying if we did show some ambition this summer. Also Championship wages would be better than what we're paying now.
Can I suggest if Snoddy's talking about ambition he get's head up and starts playing like an inspirational captain instead of walking around like a sulky child. His body language is terrible at the moment. He should be wearing the captains armband with pride.
IF Snodgrass does leave, I'd put your mortgage on him joining Norwich. Two ex-Leeds players here already, plus he's already been managed by Lambert, and we tried to get him in the Summer. £3.5m?
If you end up with three unproven players in the Premier League from Leeds United I'll have to have a little wager on your relegation next season. You need to set your standards a little higher especially with the always difficult second season in the Prem. 3.5mill yes please.
Unproven? Johnson has been solid when called upon apart from the odd mistake. Howson has been absolutely superb in the handful of games he's played and is getting better the fitter he gets. We started this season with one or two players with Premier League experience, with two or three players that had never even played in the Championship, let alone the Premier League, and now we sit in a very comfortable 10th place above many established Premier League teams.
Think hes Mum is seriously Ill at the moment. Dont think he would even be playing if we had a half decent squad!
He only got back from Scotland at the last opportunity before the Reading game. I'm glad he's telling it as it is. If he does go, whatever the price, we're looking at a few more seasons in the Championship.
Still don't rate Johnson as a Prem League player, did a job for us but he's a clumsy ****er. Howson was superb for us for a number of games, obviously he's out to impress at the moment, wait and see what he's like when he has to stand up and be counted. He tends to go missing more than necessary.
My point is, as a player you don't want to hear your captain saying some of things Snoddy's coming out with.
Snoddy has been awful since warnock has come in! Id take 4 million in the summer and get someone who can take it past a man and has a decent final ball.
haven't you learnt anything from what norwich and swansea have achieved above qpr this season? if we get him for £3.5m i'd be delighted
