IMO we played better without him last night..

He is a top player but a greedy and wastful one.

Carroll is improving each game as well.

After last night if suarez was to leave for a decent fee i would not be too dissapointed.

    Thoughs?

    DR.

    P.S Henderson is a RB ;)

I think it's more to do with the exclusion of Gerrard - the midfield ticks and looks so much more fluid without him and they all raised their games.

I think you need him for a number of reasons. Yes he doesn't score but if he was playing behind a goalscorer i think he would be immense (Beardsley-esque, and i think we can all agree we loved Beardsley). Last night there were times when Blackburn were terrible and what you need are solid players who will put in a shift and beat them, you played well and deserved to win. In tight games, or big games, you need a player who can produce the spectacular and Suarez is your main man for that i'd say. Maxi must be fuming he doesn't get to play more though!!

It was not surprising that Suarez did not play last night. I doubt that Dalglish was ever going to take the chance that Suarez may be shown a red card.

Let's be honest, Blackburn were poor last night and left lots of space for Bellamy, Maxi and Carroll to operate. One thing is certain, that will not be the case on Saturday. When the space is tight, that is when you will see Suarez at his best.

Suarez needs to play alongside Bellamy and Maxi. That is our most dangerous attacking trio currently and they'd all work together brilliantly. Kenny doesn't have the bottle to drop Gerrard for Everton though, nor will he start Maxi two games in a row and he'll probably reduce Bellamy to 'impact sub' in the semi...shame

  6. I dont think you can judge how a team performs with or without selected players on a game like last night. We played the majority of it with a man less so any plans and/or tactics were not implemented.

Prior to the sending off, we looked very sharp, good passing and movement. The midfield clicked. The last time I saw a performance like that was against Arsenal when Gerrard wasn't playing.

But I was impressed with the grit and determintation of the players. We saw a lot more fight and character in the last two games than in the entire season. A few weeks ago, we probably would have rolled over once Blackburn levelled and when Villa took the lead. Now the players know that they can fight and they have the spirit.

I geniunely believe that this victory will be more beneficial in terms of squad morale and confidence than a simple 2-0 victory.

Good point dave. Suarez somehow manages to wriggle his way through the tightest of spaces so he can make something happen if we're up against a solid defence- which we weren't so much last night.

Thought you were off on the briney again, btw?

Mate he's the only world class attacking player we have at the moment, would be absolute suicide to get rid of him by choice! We need to add more quality not take it away!

I wouldn't judge this on just one game, there will be games where we will argue that we need Suarez. He is a quality player.

And you wonder why we've been sliding for the past few years? Why would selling our top player help? Blackburn were awful last night.
We sold Alonso, arbeloa, mascherano and they are now regulars for the 2 of the biggest teams in world football. If you wanna continue being a feeder club then sell our best player. The problem here is gerrard, he shouldn't start games, he just doesn't do the job for us anymore.

Don't worry, at least if you're sinking in shark infested waters, there'll be no problem deciding who to throw in first.
