I cant see Dyche playing him in a 4-4-2. In a different formation, yeah defiantly.

Thing is though, with us surpassing expectations this season and comfortably avoiding being anywhere near the bottom 4, Dyche has no reason to change the formation.

Why cant he play on the wing??

    from offical site.

He is fast and from what i can remember could put a mean cross in. He has to be better than Yeates or Forsyth!!

    1) He's not a winger

    2) As Ive already previously said, I expect Murray to be first choice RM next season (with Yeates as back-up) and I expect Forsyth to be first choice LM next season. Dyche likes haveing left footers down the left flank, McGinn is right footed.

Technically, yes Dan I agree with you he's better than Yeates and Forsyth, I just dont think Dyche will see it that way.

And that quote just proved my point that he cant play in a 4-4-2. Centrally behind the striker = 4-4-1-1. And we have never played a diamond formation under Dyche.

These are not my thoughts, Im just second guessing Dyche.

But thats only you saying he is not a winger. We have yet to see his full potential imo. We have all agreed that Forsyth and Yeates are poor, so if McGinn shows half the quality we saw last season then why should he not play in place of Forsyth or Yeates. Imo, he should get the nod every time. We may not have played a diamond this season, but we have played 4-5-1 against Cardiff and possibly other times too. Dyche has said he will play the best team he can and is willing to change formation.

    The team should be as follows;

    -----------------------------LOACH----------------------------

    DOYLEY--------NOSWORTHY--------MARIAPPA--------DICKINSON

    MURRAY----------HOGG---------------BUABEN-----------MCGINN

    -------------------DEENEY----------IWELUMO------------------

Dyche has brought in 4 left footed players who all play down the left flank

    Carl Dickinson
    Tom James
    Craig Forsyth
    Alex Kalancinklic (on loan)

Wouldn't that suggest that he likes/prefers to have left footers down the left???

What we the fans think the team should be and what Dyche actually does are two very different things.

No, Dickinson is the only one to have played regularly. AK doesnt count as he was on loan. But the fact that he played over Forsyth and Yeates speaks volumes. Tom James was always a punt in the dark and may be one for the future.

He still actively went out to bring in 4 left footed players though, surely cant be a coincidence???

He also talked pre-season about the importance of the balance of the team and the advantages to having left footers on the left to create more width.

We didn't have any left footers before Dyche, so it would seem obvious that he would try and get some in..though agreed, 4 is a lot...

Problem being that Dickinson has arguably been the weakest player for us in defence, and Forsyth scores goals but other than that struggles.

A couple of viscous Watford tackles aside, the twenty minutes leading up to the half hour mark after such a fast opening tell were largely uneventful. It was as a result of one of those challenges that Conway's participation in the game was cut short, being replacedeight minutes from the break by Liam Lawrence.

    viscous
viskəs - Adjective: Having a thick, sticky consistency between solid and liquid; having a high viscosity.

I think the reporter means vicious, but then again he could be right.

There are a lot of other spelling errors in htis report, but then English is a foreign language.

If you watch the 2:07mín. BBC film of the game at 34sek Don Cowie uses his hand to control the ball before he passed the ball to Kenny Miller.

Is every Cardiff reporter this biased?

We score an ugly goal, but Cowie is praised for his fantastic play to get them their goal...the ball hitting his arse.

I don't count Forsyth as a Dyche signing, I think he simply went along with it. Whatever (most of) us fans think about Malky, the two are still friends and I'm sure Sean trusted that Malky was trying to sign a good player in good faith.

2 more left footed players to be signed in the summer then?

Why is it our club finds it so hard to find/sign decent left footed players???

Last time we had a decent left footed left back (that was ours not on loan) was Paul Robinson and he was sold in 2003!

And I cant even remember the last time we had a left footed LM who did well (again one of ours not a loanee). Peter Kennedy???

Maybe we should put Sir Graham in charge when it comes to trying to find a decent leftie???

The still picture of the tackle on the BBC website shows a genuine attempt at the ball (in fact getting the ball), that tackle would not even have got a foul 20+ years ago.

Massive shame for the lad, but not a horrendous tackle, or a sending off offence

I wouldn't write of Forsyth just yet. He has only just turned 23 a few weeks ago, and come up a level. I remember people knocking McGinn in his first season down, and also knocking Cowie in his first season. I even remember some people knocking Graham in his first season (I recall you were one of them Mitch!).

I am not saying Forsyth will be a good player, but he is young and has come up a level. Totally different to Yeates for example, who has played at this level before and a bit older. Do I think Yeates will improve? Probably not. Do I think Forsyth will improve - very possibly.
