Quality video Tash, fair play mate!

Your Jonas/Ben Arfa comment is way off though! Ben Arfa at his best is a single-handed match winner. He hasn't had a chance to show it in the Premiership yet, but in France he is held in the same regard as Nasri and Benzema (his attitude left him out of favour and therefore his stock plummeted - their loss is our gain)!

We can always live in hope. Don't really see why we shouldn't though, a settled team with a bunch of players that understand each other and most importantly want to play for us.

    Harps
    Simmo - Tayls - Colo - Jose/New LB (PVA)
New RW (Marveaux) - Tiote - Barton
New ST (Gervinho) - New ST (Gameiro/Toivonen) - Ben Arfa

    Or

    Harper
    Simmo - Tayls - Colo - Jose/New LB (PVA)
    ----------Barton - Tiote
    Gervinho - Ireland/Vargas - Ben Arfa
    ------------Gameiro/Toivonen

In dreams, the second one will be our team next year.

    Simmo-------Samba-----Coloccini----------Enrique

    -------------Barton--------Tiote------------------

    Gervihno----------Nolan/Ireland-------------Ben Arfa

    -------------------Sturridege---------------------

Vargas would be a stupid signing IMO. And besides, we can't have a foward line of light weights. We need some aggression in that attacking mid area. Ben Arfa and Gervihno are skillfull and creative, but we also need some lead and steel in there. Nolan and Ireland could apply that. If we have no muscle, we'll get shoved off the ball too easily, and be easy meat for the likes of Chelsea and Tottenham.

I dont think he would be any stupider a signing than Tiote and Ben Arfa. He's young and promising. If we have the chance i think it would be stupid not to sign him.

I dont like this 'too lightweight' stuff. We would have a front 4 of people who are all good on the ball, but also young and energetic. They would track back and put in tackles, who cares if they occasionally get shrugged off the ball, i'll take that for the times they skip around players and play a killer through ball anyday. And we have Tiote and Barton to add the steel!!

Plus, it would be bloody exciting football!!

  14. Ben Arfa came from Marsielles, a champions league club, Tiote came from FC Twente, a champions league club. Who the **** are Clube Brugge?

I'd have Vargas for maybe 4 million, but he'd most likely cost us alot more, and he aint worth what they'll most likely ask for, which is probably about 8-10 million.

15 goals in 23 games means he's a vital player for them, and wont be cheap, despite the fact they're in a ****ty league.

Ben Arfa was playing a largely bit part role because he was a disruptive little ****. Buying him for around 7/8 mil was a risk.

Tiote was an unheard quantity, playing at FC Twente, a team that were very much punching above their weight in Holland, not the best league. Still was a bit of a risk.

15 goals in 23 games for a attacking midfielder, whatever league that is in it's damn impressive. I'd be happy to pay the same as we did for Ben Arfa for him.

    Got to agree with that.

  17. Ben Arfa was a disruptive little **** at Marseilles because he wanted to come to us. He's been as good as gold whilst at the Toon and everyones been commenting on how nice he is, and how talented he is, especially the players.

Tiote was unheard of, yes, but only cost us 3.5 million. Ben Arfa only cost us 5 million.

If we can get Ben Arfa for 5 million, then we should spend any more than that on Vargas.

All i'm saying is that i'm glad the club aren't really interested in him.

Tash's inside information far outweighs anything we mere mortals know.

  19. lol, well i obviously don't know that for sure, but the fact that we haven't even been linked with him shows that the club aren't officially interested and haven't made anything clear to Club Brugge.

He was disruptive well before we were linked with him!! And yes, 5 million, but we paid 2 million for the loan aswell.

Tiote was a gamble, no 2 ways around it. Unproven, poor disciplinary record (which he has proudly kept in tact). And though 3.5 mil isn't a lot, if he didn't perform it's 3.5 we probably would see much of with resale.
