I did see the incident yeah, terrible decision, Young should of been booked for diving and free kick to QPR. Do I genuinely think that the referee intentionally gave the decision to aid Man Utd's cause, no. I do accept factors such as ref's being reluctent to give decisions against the bigger clubs due to the adverse publicity, the increased pressure from fans due to bigger attendances, and also other factors that can subliminally affect their thought process. Seem to recall the toon getn a pretty dubious penalty against Man Utd recently when Rio made a cracking tackle and Ba scored the penalty, its not always swings and roundabouts but the occasional bad decision goes against the bigger clubs aswel due to simple human error.
Yes I agree once again, however I might add that some clubs appear to recieve more swings than roundabouts. I'd hazard a guess this is why two very high profile managers in Hughes and oh the irony Dalgish, have went public, suggesting that all is not well. Mancini has uttered murmurings this season too and Mourinho certainly didn't mix his words about Barcalona. Perhaps all these high profile managers are correct to reveal their concerns?
Course, and I always find it ironic how irrate the top managers get when so often it is the small town clubs who get penalised at every turn. I wouldnt go as far as corruption tho, possibly just other top managers jumping on the bandwagon in the hope that if enough s**t is thrown then some will stick and the ref's may look to "even it out" so to speak.
Precisely. For example, Atkinson, the inventor of Fergie Time could rightly explain away the extra time he added on in the City game but then only added 30 seconds on to the added time when Everton had scored 2 goals in injury time against United. It's totally inconsistent and was made even worse because he blew the whistle when Everton were about 20 yards out and on the attack. He then took the Chelsea/United game later in the season and didn't give United the benefit in the big decisions which earnt him a blast from Fergie. The result? One of the country's elite referees, who regularly takes Champions League and international matches, was dropped to the Championship for a game and didn't take another United game for over a year - he had taken United games 6 times in the previous 12 months up to and including the Chelsea game. Foy dicked us over totally against Stoke, missing the handball for their opener, missing a blatant penalty for us, missing a handball on the line by Huth and sending one of our players off for very little. He wasn't dropped to the Championship and refereed us again in under 5 months. Against Wigan Dowd sent off Sammon for nothing and then gave United a penalty for a foul that wasn't even in the area. No dropping to the Championship for him and he's still refereeing United games. The big teams tend to get the decisions because making a mistake against them means they will get dropped to a lower league and then won't get big games for awhile, which affects their career. Manchester united are the best at essentially selecting a pool of referees to take charge of their games and anyone who disappoints them gets struck off the list.
That's because the FA don't have the nuts to tell SAF & a few other managers what to go and do with themselves
I think the league is corrupt as well, when will someone from the FA & EPL come out & tell everyone what's going on, or at least make a public statement to likes of SAF suggesting the the FA have the final say on decisions & they should just live with it
