There's over £11m of income difference between 2nd and 17th from prize money.

Take into account CL money and that goes way up.

11mil won't pay the wages of one 100k per week player <laugh> sorry but as laughable as it sounds if you take that 11mil, divide it by 2 to account for tax (not like rangers obviously) then you multiply 100k x 52 you will see my point.

anyone happy to scrape into the cl spots is fooling themselves. I'd rather the prize money and plaudits for a cup than flop about i nthe league playing 4th is an acheivement game.

sure cl is big but even bigger is the worldwide tv draw and merchandising and having a couple of pots is nice to push that side too.

I will maintain that ther eis no difference between 2nd and 17th. give it ten years and the only team remembered are the champions and just maybe the team that blew up spectaculalry... ala newcastle in the 90s and it seems city in 2012

    I don't see your point.

There is clearly a difference between 2nd and 17th. It seems like you have gotten used to just throwing money away and lost all sense of its value. A club isn't just paying the wages of its players. £11m goes a long way to covering the wages of the back room staff and those associated with the club on match day.

How about you take that £11m, times it by 3, add 2 and then piss it up the wall.
