WHen you buy mid tables players you end up in mid table. If kenny didnt realise how cack downing, hendo, adam and carrol are then he deserves to be fired. If he didnt make the buys or agree to them then whoever did should be fired.

What is funny is the scousers thought their buys were amazing when they happened. Obviously they dont watch much football, my gran could of told them that stuart downing is rubbish and that henderson isnt even a hot young talent.

Liverpool = average players. That is why they are 8th.

  3. Well I read somewhere ( probably Bleacher Report ) that 20 years ago when he was in charge of Blackburn, they had a 6 game losing streak. They drew the last game of that season, eventually to win the EPL three years later. Perhaps he's waiting for a repeat performance with Pool. With the way managers are usually moved on these days. I wonder if he will be given the opportunity. I think he's made some poor decisions in buying players and of course in the manner by which he has supported Suarez. He has I believe been known for his support of the players of his team so perhaps this isn't too surprising. What is though is supporting the wrong cause. I actually don't mind Pool being in a quagmire. It's one less team for us to worry about although with Pool you never know how they will perform since an encounter with them can suddenly assume the proportions of a do or die cup tie for them. Playing them seemed easier in the days of Raffa. I do wish they would bring him back <laugh> From my early days in following the game, Pool were our main rivals for honours so for me, there's no love lost there which is a round about way of saying they can keep Kenny if he keeps them losing. ;)

It is funny they are further from the top 4 than from relegation <laugh>

  5. Just goes to show how extraordinarily strange this season has been. I imagine almost every season throws up it's set of unexpected and unfathomable occurrences but this year has been strange with our loss to Utd, theirs to City at OT and our win at Chelsea. The title then looked to being going City's way.

As a aside, had we been on form at crucial stages this season I really believe we could be vying with Utd now. If we had been afforded the investment and if the money was there, had we used it things might have been so different. Yet another lost chance for the history books. Can you imagine SAF not seizing the opportunity that we let slip by?

If wenger hadnt waited till the last day to get his business done then it is certain that we would be up there going for the title. Since the first 7 games (which were purely down to wengers mismanagment of the transfer window) then we would be above city and only just behind united.

  7. The start to the season and indeed the start to this year. We had a disastrous January on the back of a lukewarm December. I would have settled for a 2-1 win over Blackburn if we could redistribute the other five goals and secure victories over Swansea, Bolton and Utd. That loss to Rangers was just abysmal. How we can perform like that one week and outplay City just makes no sense.

I keep worrying about what goes on in the dressing room. Does Wenger say anything?
Somebody needs to kick some water bottles and chuck some tea-cups about.
    Fire the buggers up PLEASE.

  9. You're right. He really needs to be actively motivating the players for the next six games. We really have to secure 3rd place and use that as a springboard for the coming season. Anything less just won't be good enough.

just look at what he did to Newcastle...

38% win ratio, swiftly taking a team that was challenging for the title down to 13th place...

They could easily be 14th after the next couple of games.

There was more than one post knocking around the boards from people who wanted Wenger fired, because we did not buy Adam and Downing. Quality players them, you know!

It was when we were in the depth of dispair just after the summer, when Koscielney, Rosicky, Walcott, Gibbs, Arteta and Song were all clearly not good enough. Even RVP was expected to break down any minute. I think the thought was, anybody was better than what we had. It has been a bit of a rollercoaster ride this season.
