It's been confirmed that the verdict is expected today, we will probably know more in a matter of hours. If it's upheld he can't play Swansea, let's just hope in that case that they don't slap us with an extra game for Derry. http://www.qpr.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10373~2729350,00.html
A waste of everyone's time. We know it should be rescinded, Young knows what he did, Mason and the linesman know they were incompetent/desperate to give a decision to United (delete as applicable) in the hope it gets them in Ferguson's good books but rescinding the red card is admitting that one of England's star players cheated and that ain't happening. I live in hope.
Unfortunately there us more chance of winning the euro millions than this being over turned. Whether it was right or wrong, the FA nearly always uphold referee's decisions.
I read somewhere over the weekend that ashley young has won the most penalties in the premier league over the last 2.5 seasons. cant remember where i read it but i did find this while I was searching http://soccerlens.com/manchester-uniteds-16m-deal-to-win-even-more-free-kicks-and-penalties/77566/
Probably a waste of time but must be done. Is'nt this the first red we have actually contested? Not expectinig anything from the FA.
This one we have to contest otherwise it makes it look as if we agree that Derry should have been sent off because he did something wrong. He didn't.
Someone (a PL player) had a red card cancelled not so long ago. Can't remember who it was but it looked a lot more a red than Derry's, or Barton's come to that.
What annoys me about this kind of situation is that if they take away the red card and admit the referee was wrong, then what about how it effected the game? They can't give that back. Will there be an apology? No, there won't.
If they dont overturne this incident they dont overturne anything anymore. Unless ManU is some bizarre way gettin a unjustice.....Well ,like that will happen someday
I'm sure it will be because there has been so much media coverage of what an injustice it was. This makes it an easy decision for them as there won't be media backlash. In essence the total opposite to JB where everyone was gunning for him because of who he is.
They have to rescind the red! Following on from Ranger74, I'd go as far as saying there would be a media backlash if it WASN'T rescinded - every report I've read about the incident has said it shouldn't have been a red... but then I suppose we can trust the FA to **** things up for us again.
There will be no backlash, the media dont care about QPR, the backlash would come only if it was a top 4 side being shafted.
This red will definately be overturned. The whole country knows this was a rediculous decision. Easiest decision the panel will even need to make. Keep the faith! Derry to grab the winner tomorrow anyone??
