Well it's a rather poor match thread if we don't have that much information in the OP. Sure we do not know the teams yet, but not the ref either?

Wigan Athletic entertain Manchester United in the 33rd round of fixtures of the Barclays Premier League. A hat trick from Dimitar Berbatov and goals from Ji Sung Park and Antonio Valencia helped United to a 5 0 win in the reverse fixture at Old Trafford on boxing day although the biggest talking point was the red card shown to Connor Sammon for a foul on Michael Carrick which quite rightly was dismissed by the FA. United won the corresponding fixture last season with help from a brace from Javier Hernandez and goals from Wayne Rooney and Fabio da silva.

Wigan are 1 of 5 teams fighting for their lives in the relegation scrap and have had an up and down few weeks firstly with a shock 2 1 win at Anfield but in their last game at Chelsea were unfortunate not to escape with a draw after some contriversal decisions helped Chelsea to a 2 1 home win. United go into the game 8 points clear at the top of the table after 8 straight wins and a run of 5 clean sheets while their rivals Man City have been dropping points with the latest being losing 1 0 at Arsenal. While United know 4 wins from 6 will guarantee the title they cannot take Wigan lightly as they will be doing everything to get the points themselves.

    COME ON UNITED

Phil Dowd is the referee for our game.

Difficult indeed, agree with the must win the title race isn't over until it's over. No time for complacency, citys form might improve I reckon the pressure is off for them now as they are no longer expected to win it, they might start playing better.

despite what other people have said recently, I feel this is the game that we should be worried about

Wigans style of play hasnt changed all season, much down to Martinez not being a good manager IMO.

However these are the teams UTD have recently struggled with, those who 'have a go'

In all honesty our strikers dont look like scoring at the moment and most teams have created chances against us, even qpr and blackburn although they played the 10 1 system

Good thing is our keeper and defence have been excellent and goals have come from midfield (wings)

Overall slightly concerned about this one if I am honest

    Hope so daffy

The only issue for me is putting the chances away.

When going through these patches we are always at 'risk'. I see goals in Wigan tbh. They have played well and lost a lot of games this season.
Just hope it doesnt 'click' against us

To be fair they've done well over the couple of games but if there is one area i would target its their defence, its so bad and i can see us scoring goals tomorrow, we might see Chicharito play tomorrow night.

Thats what I am afraid off TBH

Rooney in midfield 99% of the time, even Cleverley was further ahead than him against QPR when he came on, and chich offside

Chicha in the team against an attacking team is like playing with 10 men IMO

True, it looks like we'll resting Paul Scholes and Rio Ferdinand for tomorrow night's game, i know its a cliche but i feel this game will be huge in terms of the title race.

I disagree he's more effective against attacking teams, allows for better runs in behind defences.

A very unlikely scenario, but #mufc could clinch the title this weekend

I see what you are saying, and there was an element of that when he started

Now he is more often offside, and offers very little outside the 6 yard box

He does love to be offside, but he does get goals
