    Morning Everyone,

    Normality is resumed....

I'm quite pleased in a way that we lost yesterday. It means that we won't just be papering over the cracks in the Summer. Its going to be vertually a new team, with the exeption of 3 or 4 names...

Warnock said to Clough at the end of yesterdays embarressment, ‘Enjoy this, Nigel, because you’ll never see another Leeds United team or a Neil Warnock team like this’. “We had a lot of players playing today that know they won’t be here next season. We’ve not got enough Leeds United-type players.

Last time we went up to the promised land, we had a big midfield, and a hard one. We had Vinney Jones, David Batty, Chris Kamara, Steve Hodge, Speed, McAllister and Strachan (I think). These players knew how to mix it up, and tackle hard.

Personally, evern the likes of Lonnergan has dissapointed me. He is not as good as I thought he was. Anyone else agree???

It says something when our best player lately is Michael Brown. Pugh should not kick a ball for us again, what a waste of 500k.

Thats 10 home defeats this season, can anyone think of a worse time?

We also had the likes of Vince Hillaire and Noel Blake in our squad that went up to the old 1st division. Those of you that don't remember that far back....you wouldn't mess !!!

    Morning:

    1) Have to agree, Lonnergan is ONLY a decent keeper, probably a good half dozen ahead of him in this division - BETTER than Kasper in my opinion before fester fans invade us with drivel.
    2) Think a lot of what Warnock is saying is gamesmanship ahead of his meeting BUT I DO like the words leaving his mouth
    3) Would have liked a scrappy 1-0 win, I don't think anything can paper over the cracks now but I don't want us finishing lower than 10th - 11th
    4) Brown - Yes he has been our best but a complete liability I am always worried he is going to get red carded, don't care if he never plays another game for us
    5) I heard Pugh was £250k up front and a further £250k based on appearances, promotion etc... Dump him and allow him to leave for free and save paying out the second part. The day we signed him I felt biggest waste of a wage ever and I haven't change that opinion.

It will be interesting now to see what actually happens. Two possibilities; either Bates will back Warnock & allow him to get rid of maybe 8 to 10 players & bring in 5 or 6, or he won't. For the sake of the club & some stability next season, let's hope he does.

There was a reason why Bates brought him in & a reason why Warnock accepted. I think Bates Brought him in to do whatever is necessary to get us up into the PL next season. I think Warnock accepted because he sees it as his final challenge. I think there is a nucleus of a decent side, & unlike many on here, I don't think it will take too much to turn us from alsorans who came close at one point to a side more than capable of going up next season in auto.

Scoring goals isn't too much of a problem & having Somma back will put pressure on the current front two to up their game a bit. Brown is at least in part the DM we've missed for a while. But Clayton needs to up his game a bit. They need competition.

We have enough wide players. Let's hope Snoddy both stays & is allowed to revert to his apprently preferred position on the right side of midfield.

Our problems, as we know, are at the back. Bruce seems to have done enough to be one CB. Allegedly O'Dea maybe staying. That's two. Lees will stay. That's 3. I doubt AOB will stay given his age & the fact that he hasn't played since Warnock arrived. Will Bromby stay as a CB, or will he revert to RB as competition for Connolly?. At LB, we have White, Parker, & Robinson. I think Parker will leave. Will White revert to LB, or will he provide the pace at LM? Will we sign Robinson permanently? I think we will.

Okay, so apart from another hard nosed tough tackling DM & certainly another RB, who else will we bring in? If the rumours about Beckford falling out with his manager are true, will Warnock bring him back?

Final thought, will we see a number of the academy - Poleon, the Turner twins, Taylor go out on loan to prepare them for the step up to the first team bench at ER? Let's hope so. Keep the faith guys. Warnock maybe a little sh%t, but he's now our little sh%t!!!

Absolutely agree on most of what you say. Its the first time Brown has been sent off this seeason, one of 10 red cards we have had this season so far...Let Pugh leave, but I'm sure we'll get £200,000, he could be a useful backup as he can play anywhere, just like Bromby

Boggers, you're dead right about Bates bringing Warnock in for a reason. He could have given the hot seat straight to Redfearn after that first win, and I think we would have accepted it. Warnock would have known that he would not have been short of offers, but decided to move to ER as Bates must have made promises. I have heard all the talk about Bates wanting to wait to 2018 to get promoted to save 10m for his CVA, but the revenue the Prem brings in (probably 50+m) easily outweighs that.I remember watching Robbo's hard tacle v West Ham, he almost got a standing ovasion. Unfortunately since then, we have had 3 or 4 red cards...

    Boggers - I have to disagree slightly, Lonnergan - Bromby - Bruce - O'Dea - Robinson - White - Brown - Clayton - Snodgrass - Somma/Becchio - McCormack

That is a team you have picked to stay with a few additions to provide competition. We could virtually send that team out to play next week and it has been proven as not good enough for promotion. Having competition for 'THIS' set of players means players at the same level which equals not good enough. We need a far better quality of player than O'Dea, Bruce, Bromby, White if we are going to challenge.

Fair comment Ristac. It will be interesting to see who Warnock is able to attract. If we're winning & ER becomes a place of intimidation with 30k each week, Warnock will need to be satisfied that whoever he brings in can handle that. We got a guy from Swansea a couple of seasons ago. He looked good at Swansea, but absolutely fell apart at ER. Worth bearing that in minad as well.

Boggers, are you talking about Paul Robinson (from Swansea). He moved to Leeds and would not stop eating...

Boggers it amazes me how many players we have come to this club who under perform and then go on to look almost world class in comparison at other clubs. I was looking at some of last seasons loan players who never impressed or made an impact, Jake Livermore one of those players and this season the young right back Smith.

3m, if only.... I remember Bassone, he was not good. We signed him a few days after signing Connelly from Derby

QPR had a much larger wage bill than most Championship clubs under Warnock, Sheffield Utd are still paying off the legacy he left.
Warnock is clearly not a man manager, that is why we have gone backwards under him with our current squad (I know they are not great but they did not get worse overnight).

But Colin buys well and knows what you need to get out this league, yet Uncle Ken prefers to make a profit by selling the best players & signing cheap journeymen.

Why do any of you think that Bates will change his position? & If he does decide to back the manager, can Shaun Harvey cut it when it comes to sorting out the contract's?

    So despondent right now...

Peacock, not too impressed with Webber. I know he was unattached, and didn't cost us anything, but he has hardly set the world alight....

Pugh was left without a midfield partner on Monday - how anyone can criticise him based on Borwn getting sent off is beyond me. he did much better than I expected and I think he has done enough in the last couple of games to warrant staying. Even Warnock was shocked (and pleased) and had not believe Pugh could play such a hardman role.

Pugh did not go missing on Monday - you just need to look at the rest of the team for that.

O'Dea has been a rock since he came back, Lees had one of his bettwer games, nunez looked a livewire, but Snoddy appeared indifferent and depressed. Having passed the ball off, he often just sat around instead of looking for it again. Maybe being down to 10 men meant he needed a breather, so I could be accused of being a little harsh, but his final ball too often did not get past the first man (again). His lack of speed (both in his legs and in releasing the ball quickly enough) and his ability to only get the cross past the front man 50% of the time are his downfall.

Becchio will work until the cows come home, but he seems to be getting worse. There is no urgency and we do not break with him at all. No peripheral vision, no ball control, bad passing ability, and not enough nous when heading against big opposition (needs to learn the Gary Speed skill of running from the side to head the ball on, not just standing still and jumping for it).

Pleasantly surprised by Paynter, who looked more mobile and stronger than ever before, with a desire to fight for the ball. Webber looked quick and clever, if uncomposed in front of goal.

McCormack - if he can sprint back that fast 65 yards to cover tackle against a fast tall guy breaking from one of our corners, why can't he run that fast when aiming at the right goal? Seemed strange to me.

Robinson had some bite, as did Connolly, but Connolly was pulled out of position a lot, maybe because he was having to cover the strange runs of Lees.

Overall, I disagree with Warnock's comments about players not caring because they know they won't be here next season. We had 10 men for most of the game for the second game running, and when you actually look at what each of them did, all I can say is that Warnock was wrong in his analysis and daft little snidey comment.

The issue is with setting the team up to play competitively and to give them a chance to score wheile being able to defend as a team. Once Brown had gone, it all went to pot, and we did not have a subs bench chosen to cover the possibility of one of our CMs being sent off. That's management.

Message to Neil : try harder, C- so far

Nah Farsley. It would take too long. I'll settle for Warnock sorting things out in the close season & us being an entirely different kettle of fish next season. If we did change, I go for AC Meleeds

10 years ago we should have gone into administration and risen from the lower leagues.

In our current position we just just need to shake lose the parasite and we will be OK!
