<peacedove>There is no easy game in the premiership, Norwich took all the points at White Hart Lane yesterday.
Chelsea were held away to Fulham.Newcastle won against Bolton yesterday.
    Arsenal 61 points.
    Tottenham 59 points
    Newcastle 59 points
    Chelsea 59 points
~Chelsea have the most difficuult fixtures away to Arsenal and Liverpool in the league.
~Newcastle are also to play Chelsea and Everton away.
~Arsenal have a difficult away game to Stoke.
~Newcastle Have surprised every one this season, and they may finish 4th this season if other results
    go their way.

bozz, amazingly i was thinking exactly the same league poistions.

I would laugh heartily if that occurs... I'll also save a wry grin for every newkie fan who happens along baosting cos i know exactly what fate will await them next year if they do manage it.

in the end tottenham have lost it big time and are just gone. i have to say this bodes ill for them seeing they threw the eurpoa league early on deliberately to have one match a week.

I have to wonde rif some big names are maneavuering towars the exit along with harry here... modric might just be playing safe passes and not shooting cos he'll get a double your moeny move next year as well as CL for example.

That would probably be the worst scenario for LFC in terms of Player recruitment this Summer

It makes me laugh when we hear some players, agents and pundits say that they would only move to a club that has CL football. The decision to move from one club to another is made upon a myriad of different issues and NOT just CL football.

It's about trophies Dave! Surely you know that. All those players moved to city & Chelsea to win the league & champions league......oh wait. They must all be going to move again this summer.

If all the players who reckon only CL teams are good enough for them got into one, said CL teams would have squads of about 200 each.
    Delusions of grandeur.

    1. Money
    2. Current Champions League Club
    3. Important League/Country

The cream of the crop may forfeit one of the above, but not two.

    All three?

    Delusional.

Am I right in thinking we'd then take Chelsea's Europa League spot?

    Yes.

If Chelsea do not win the CL AND Spurs finish 6th, the following must happen for Spurs to get in to Europe
    - Win the FA Cup
    - If Everton Reach the FA Cup Final and lose to Chelsea they take the FA Cup Runners up place, Chelsea's winners place goes to the league
    - If Everton Win the FA Cup against Chelsea, Spurs will not make Europe
    - If Liverpool reach the final, Spurs are in Europe next year regardless of the result or who we're against

    If Chelsea Win the CL
Spurs need to win the FA Cup or for us to make the final

    I think

EDIT - Looking at this again here is a simple way of looking at this

If Chelsea fail to win the CL. Spurs need us to beat Everton in the FA Cup Semi Final or They need to win the FA Cup

erm..... well there is a slightly complex list of things required for newcastel to acheive some european football next year.

    1. the first thing to do is BELIEVE. you can take 4th, ther eis no doubt about it now. others are stumbling while your guys are firing. and fair play cos we ALL thought you'd fade.

    2. If chelsea win the CL (they have no chance, none, nada zip. barca will win 5-0 at least) then actually whomever is 4th will only get a europa spot. so if you are 4th you can feel awful seeing barca flopped so badly. there's no chance this is going to happen cos its just impossible. i saw cheslea play benfica and fulham and wigan and they are just not fit enough or playing well enough to put 10 men behind the ball even.

    3. If chelsea reach the FA cup final v LFC. now thats getting interesting.. lets just say that chelsea are in 4th on cup final day. then no matter that the result one europa slot gets passed down to 6th.

    4. If say spurs and lfc are i nthe final... well no it depsnds where the spuds finish. if they are 5th then ok one spot gets passed odwn.

basically newcastle better start beleiving they can take better than 6ht in the the tbale and not worry about the permutations.

If we see arsenal 3rd, newcastle 4th and LFC FA cup champions then chelsea and the spuds will play europa. which they will then throw in the group stages (a scandalous thing to do btw)

If we see you guys 5th you will be fine

If we see you 6th you'll be dissappointed if everton get a europa spot via our loss but hey

    bozz..

chelsea are the jokers in the pack but they are not winnign the cl so thats moot.

the question really is who finishes 4th and right now that shuold be newcastle as they have the elast games to focus on and the best form and look like they have the legs as well. Chelsea look tired. spurs look done in in confidence.

then whomever finishes 5th gets a europa spot and really the only remianing question is whomsoever gets 6th.. will they get anything... this is also an easy one, if LFC reach the final then yes they do... two of the team vying for 45h, 5th and 6th play eachother in the fa cup semi. so one of them is likely sorted anyway, again its all up to everton..... if they fail 6ths gets europa.

If Spurs finish outside the top four Fergie certainly will go for one Spurs player..your guess as good as mine.Scholes can go back to retirement. That player has been Chelsea target for long, and Fergie is going to get his man.<ok>

maybe so, and maybe said player knows this and is playing a few more sideways passes than earleir i nthe season to make it happen.

and maybe anothe rplayer at spurs thinks barca will come calling if he keeps knocking the corsses in a bit too heavy...

All in all since harry got all his luck in court the karma has bitten big time. the very hay he got off, capello left england and spurs fell apart. i wonder if harry really cares though?

Do you guys WANT us to actually finish 4th, or is it only because we'd push teams you don't like out of the European places?

Aren't they one in the same? But it would be nice to see the anarchy that would happen at Spurs and Chelski after laughing at us and then they are in the same spot themselves.

you know... there's a bit of both.

i'd like to see newcastle fans happy but... i don't want to see ashely or pardew happy. so 4th can only be at the expense of spurs. <luagH> sorry but thems the breaks. seeing we're dirt but can win cups then giving newcastle our supposrt would seem to be the least we can do especially as we've always liked your managers back when, assistnat manager and of course buying your better players.

deffo knocking spurs over is a right giggle.
