We are winning at least and we have that to be thankful for but we are still playing deep after a single goal and it is a dangerous thing to continue with. It's not so bad if we get that goal half way through the second half but not 15 inutes into the match. We're riding our luck and asking to be punished. How many times are we lucky with that offside flag? How many "fantastic saves" does our keeper perform but (arguably) the worst statistic of all was all those corners. If Aldershot had a more clinical finisher we would have lost by a large margin today.

I don't understand why Fletcher is allowing this sort of play to continue. It may be (just) working for now and there may be an 8 point gap from the bottom two sides but they only have to win their next match and us lose ours and we are back in the mire.

Come on Argyle let's have some attacking football like when we are first off the blocks!

Fletcher seems to be riding his luck at present.........I'm not convinced he knows what he's doing.......but the points and other results went with us today.

We only need 5 points to make sure that we stay in this division and avoid relegation..........the problem then is Fletcher will probably be rewarded with a contract to manage us next season......I might sound ungrateful but I think these players are better than we see with Fletcher in charge.

No we don't. If we don't pick up another point for the rest of the season we are safe now. Not mathmatically but in every other respect I believe we are now ok. How we won today god only knows but the fact remains that we did. The lino on the far side was up with play and they didn't get a score because they were offside or whatever and that is all that matters. He didn't do us any favours just did his job. I don't think today was in Fletcher's plans to play that way. It is the team who defend so deep and it is out of desperation to get a result that makes them do it. The defence today was stoic to say the least and that includes Le Keeper. I have seen many a game where I have thought Argyle should have scored a hat full but have got none. Sometimes it just isn't your day and you could play for hours and not score. They had one of those today and it is nice to know that it isn't always us. Now that they are done and dusted as far as staying up is concerned, yes they are so don't argue, I would not put it past them to get a few more results to leave us wondering what all the fuss was about.

According to Mr El Presidente we were due a 10000 plus gate today so that was a bit of bull **** but it wasn't a bad turnout nonetheless. I must admit that my gut instinct was we would survive joe but watching them play week in week out it sort of got the better of my nerve gland at times. It wouldn't be Argyle if they didn't do everything the hard way though. There is absolutely no chance that either of the bottom 2 teams are going to win 3 of their last 4 games and us pick up nothing at all. If you had offered me this finish at the start of the season I would have knocked your head off. If you had offered me it after a dozen games I would have sold my soul for it so no matter what people think of the standard or the squad or even individual players. We have survived the drop into oblivion after several years of purgetory. The tide has turned in our fortunes so roll on next season and lets see where we go from there.

Yes i agree Sensible, i predicted better things and my money at the bookies was wasted on a promotion. Not to worry. I will bet it again next year as there is only one way now for us and that is Upwards. We could spoil Swindon's day next!! We have stopped the rot

Knowing Argyle we will put a run together now when it isn't needed anymore.

Have to say thats my take on it also-watching a game I never get a sense he knows exactly what he is doing, but then he is a rookie manager.Did'nt think Aldershot were anything special, but like every other match recently we allowed them back in the game,by sitting too deep.Yes the gods were smiling on us yesterday.Been saying this for months, don't think we have a bad team at this level, but we are consistently under performing.

If the team think it's done and dusted, like you do sensible.......then they might play a more relaxed style of game......assuming Fletcher knows how to achieve that........they might not have to play out of their little cotton socks for a change

Maybe the weather kept some at home sensible...........disappointing if it did.....especially with the price offer.......although that was only to mid-day or so I believe, too many wimps around.

None of the above atcham and my best guess would be Fletcher even if my personal jury is still out and I can't make up my mind if that would be good or bad.
