Realistically our title hopes ended weeks ago with that costly run of draws we endured. But up until full time In that Game against Birmingham just now, i still felt we had an outside chance of top spot. Not anymore. You have been top for most of the season and no one can say you don't deserve to lift that trophy in a few weeks time. I have been on here giving it some bravado about how we will win this league. I'm a proud West Ham fan and I think a bit of banter makes football a lot more fun. If I upset/annoyed anyone - I'm sorry. I'm here with my tail between my legs a little I suppose and it seems like you are gonna get the last laugh (well for this season anyway ) For us now, it is all about catching Reading and I still think we will. I have said several times on here that I hope we go up in the top 2 alongside yourselves. I know most of you want us to stay down, but I have always been fond of your club and I have nothing bad to say about you whatsoever. So I just want to say, from all West Ham United Fans - GOOD LUCK ON FRIDAY. You have been superb all season and I think the thing that has impressed everyone the most, is just when it has looked like you were wobbling, you just come back win a game comfortably to get rid of any doubt. Fair play chaps - You deserve your success and i hope to meet you next season in the prem. COYI
Fair play trixter. No gloating yet here. The champers is in the fridge, but it's staying ther til Nigel says I can take it out. I worry for the hammers now. Your season could depend on Brighton's next two games.
This proves what i was saying the other day. West Ham are easily still in the race. Saints fans never give up on their team, even when it doesnt look great, like about 13 games before the end of last season. Obviously Hammers fans do. We are the Saints' 12th man, we are the best fans in the league, and we are going up.
we endured. __________________ Err, are enduring! Whats that, 7 in a row at home. Still think you are in with a shout, Readings fixtures look tough. Still games to play, take nothing for granted.
Very well said Trixter, it takes a big man to write a post like that. I just hope you're right. To win the title we have to beat Reading on Friday to start with, and I dare say we'll have a few thousand Hammers fans cheering us on!
Come on mate no need for that. I never give up on my team and while it's still mathematically possible, we are not gonna make up 6 points on you (7 with goal difference) over the next 4 games. I still believe we can make top 2 and as much as I would have liked to win the league, I would have been delighted with second if offered it back in August.
Ofcourse they are. Brighton could beat Reading tomorrow at home, or draw. Remember Brighton have all to play for aswell to secure a playoff spot. Then if Reading were to lose to us on Friday, West Ham would be a point behind Reading with 3 games to play.
Well if you think you can catch reading you can catch us! Reading win there next two games and its us your after
West Ham did well to come back from 3.1...had all of us sweating a bit. We'll beat Reading on Friday just for you
West Ham have a really tough run in with Leicester, Brighton etc still to play. I always thought that West Ham would have enough quality to take them up but I think now it is just about getting the right momentum going into the last few games and you may make it either way: via the play-offs or autos. Today may help the fans get behind the club, however I think expectations and pressure have really been heaped on your side whereas we have been fairly lucky in that respect. Good luck
Ps I did the predictor before April and had us draw against Portsmouth, win today and lose to Reading before winning our last three. I had yourselves and Reading finish on the same number of points with the same goal difference, so it will be tight; no team will win all their remaining fixtures.
Woah woah woah. Hold on people. Why is everyone dismissing West Ham???? They are easily still in this.
its very possible reading will lose against brighton and yourselves. If we then beat Brighton (which we will if we play like we did second half today), we will probably go above them (reading) on goal difference. If it has to be the play-offs then i am still confident we can beat any team over 2 legs and then the final is anyones. I still believe. COYI.
