Guly is a good player whose every mistake seems to be noticed. I am sorry if it is getting to him...I want every player at Southampton to be happy. We are having a great season. This is all very unfair.

Slagged off Sharp for having a shot insted of passing, like went mental at him. Then at the final whistle the team came over to us, but Guly walked off in a strop towards the tunnel. But Adkins grabbed him pulling him over to us.

I think it is inherent of English football where fans assess players on their speed, strength, height and how much they run around rather than looking at more subtle qualities.

Too many people look at Guly and then Lee and think that because Guly does not run around in a similar way he is lazy. Personally I think he is technically very good, good in the air and is best as an attacked or in the hole. I thought he was very good against Barnsley, however there are people on here who always seems to think he has played poorly but I am not sure why, even though his vision is second to none and he is really quite creative and similar to Lallana.

I agree and still think he is one of our top players. There is a stereotypical image of Guly which is lazy, offside and can't head, the reality is nothing like this and I have seen him put some fantastic performances at both ends of the pitch. On Saturday he won a midfield header and there were sarcastic cheers from behind me, I was wound up by that. Nonetheless I think the silent majority support Guly and hopefully he is aware of that.

I am a Guly fan, and understand why he plays every week. However for Reading I do not want him to start. Reading were so effective against us because they played very high and closed us down really well. Guly needs time and space to do his stuff. Id much rather have de Ridder or Puncheon start (preferably de Ridder). He tore them a new one when he came on at their place. He will be too fast to close down effectively and will run at Reading defenders, when Guly will lose the ball alot. I know his end product is not as good, but id rather have "bad products" in and around the box than lose the ball at the halfway line.

He will also have it in the back of his mind that he scored against Reading before and that will give him confidence. And if Guly was sulking about the fans today, he wont have any confidence going into the most important game of the season, at home, infront of 30000 of them.

These people are not football fans or they would see just how much the bloke actually does during a game.He is a big guy and he lopes around the pitch rather than race everywhere like smaller guys. He frequently gets played out of position which is hardly his fault but wherever he plays he covers the ground as well if not better than anyone on the team.

Every club will always have a minority of uneducated muppets who need to have the "security" of a crowd to give their sad and lonely lives some meaning but these idiots are being allowed to damage our team's morale and club reputation.

Here's a suggestion for 'em. Stay at home on match days lads with a copy of Playboy and indulge in a sport that you really are good at. The rest of us don't want you at the games.

Anyone who wears the red and white stripes, whether he's crap or incredible I will give him my full support. It can only help by supporting them, when they're down it's the positive stuff as fans which help them out, chants or twitter are a great way of showing support. Those fans who boo or are abusive to anyone at Southampton are a disgrace, I had a flip out at the Pompey game with some booing Guly everytime he had the ball, it's just not warranted.

If he ripped his shirt off, threw it away and caused problems then yes we have a problem, but Guly has contributed a lot to the success of the team this season. No doubt frustrating but 3 points v Palace at Home, 3 points v Millwall, 3 points v Middlesborough. All down to Guly (plus other contributions).

I guess I can just say to the rest of you guys and girls on here, if you here anything during matches feel free to help stamp out this uneccessary booing.

We need solid midfielders who defend against Reading so I would stick with Chaplow. However I would consider playing Guly in the hole, it was his pass/assist that opened up the Reading midfield who looked like keeping us out with their solidity for De Ridder to score.

We've been vulnerable down our right side all season. I think that's more down to the right back rather than right midfield positions.

Do you think that is because Richardson is encouraged to get forward so much or that you do not think he is good enough positionally?

Bit of both, though I don't feel any more comfortable with Butterfield back there either. Rather either of them at RB than Jack Cork though.

Danny Fox get's forward just as much, but we're not nearly as vulnerable down the left. Maybe that's because of Lallana though.

Hmm, would rather have Lambert and Sharp up top though. And although i dont know how he did today, Chaplow has been pretty average lately. Perhaps if Richardson overlapped Chaplow to deliver the width, pace and crossing ability, but then they are going to tear us apart on the right on the counter like last time.

Chaplow can be more easily closed down aswell

Well then surely playing De Ridder and Richardson would surely exacerbate the issue?

I meant if de Ridder plays, Richardson wont have to overlap. The wide play will be supplied by de Ridder, Chaplow isnt as strong out wide. So Richardson will be able to concentrate on being a defender.
