Norwich manager Paul Lambert after his side's 2-1 win at Spurs: "That was phenomenal. From start to finish we were brilliant. I told the players I have seen some big games in my time and that was colossal."
Your whole team were great today making a cracking Game for the bystander to watch. Thought Tottenham were a little off probably helped by the fact that Norwich players kept on tirelessly closing them down never giving Spurs an inch. The Canaries were also much braver when going for those 50/50 balls. Well done Norwich.
Lord Beaverbrook, Sir Winston Churchill, Sir Anthony Eden, Clement Attlee, Henry Cooper, Lady Diana, Margaret Thatcher, Harry Redknapp, Mark Lawrenson, JWM, WellyBlue . . . your boys took a hell of a beating!
Wow. That is what Lambert's Norwich are all about! A performance of relentless determination and energy! And that'll be our first scalp of one of the big boys. Apart from a nervous opening few minutes Tottenham were second best all match, and in truth we probably should have had THREE penalties! The first two were definite fouls, and Nelsen had time to get his hand out the way for the third. Apart from Assou-eko-whatever he is called drawing an epic save, Defoe scoring (When it should have been our penalty at the other end) and Bale blazing the bar, we looked comfortable against Tottenham. Spurs played a frightening line-up, but of any of the clichés you may have applied to Norwich under Lambert, more than the sum of its parts seems right! Ruddy - 7.5 - actually a spectator for most of the game. Couldn't stop Defoe's goal, but saved the Tottenham's left back's shot extremely well! When nervy moment flapping at a cross, but he is only human! R Martin - 9 - Wow. Who is the Bale bloke people keep talking about? An epic challenge denied Bale a shot deep in our penalty area, and he was razor sharp throughout. Ward - 8.5 - Won everything in the air, really quite comfortable today! All tackles timed to perfection. R Bennett - 8.5 - See Ward Drury - 8 - I thought he was going to killed by Lennon. He didn't, and he was razor sharp too all match, couldn't ask for more from the guy. E Bennett - 9.5 (MoM) - What a signing, and wasn't that goal worth the wait. Brilliant, caused his full-back more problems than Lennon or Bale and capped off his display with a goal of mammoth proportions! Helped out in defence alot too! Howson - 9 - Howson was everywhere! I don't recall a single misplaced pass all game, and he was absurdly good at making tackles and closing down Spurs today! Johnson - 8 - Passed excellently today too, and added some much needed steel. Maybe should have scored though! Pilkington - 9 - A little fortuitous the ball came to him, but a calm finish. Had Kyle Walker at sixes and sevens until he was withdrawn. A fine performance! Wilbraham - 8 - Relentlessly charged down Tottenham defence all game long. Not many people would of thought he would be doing this at the start of the season. I felt Wilbraham and Holt did fantastically at controlling the long balls from our defence and preventing Tottenham coming back at us and turning the screw. Holt - 9 - Got really stuck in, should have had an assist to his name and deserved 2 (3 if he was still on the pitch) chances from the spot. The amount of throw ons Holt won us today was unbelievable, such effort from the man! A true legend. Subs: Surman - 7 - Did as well as any of us could have expected, no misplaced passes and chased as well as anyone on the pitch. Morrison - 7 - Got really stuck in and won alot of headers. Back tracked to defend tirelessly too. I have no doubts if he had started he could have done almost as well as Holt/Wilbs. Jackson - 7 - Didn't really get a chance to use his pace to test Spur's creaky OAP centre-halfs but showed as much commitment and energy (The last time I use these two words I promise) as anyone else on the pitch. So a great result, and we can look forward to a misfiring Man City with a glimmer of hope!
We deserved this so much. Every player ran out oif their skin today. So happy for them, especially Benno, what a strike! Can't believe we won a game officiated by Michael Oliver?? Tried his best though bless him, better luck next time Mikey you ****ing twat.
Bradley Johnson stepped into that team like he had played the last ten not sat watching from he dugout and was my MOM.
Hope MOTD does us credit tonight, what a performance every player that played today deserves every bit of credit that they should receive. I really cannot praise lambert enough what a man he is!

Although he bottled three penalty decisions, got simply decisions like who should get the throw, and gave a corner to Spurs wrongly.... he did nearly set us up with a goal through his clever interception....
What a win ! Can't quite believe it yet, even if that Tosser Oliver tried his best to **** us over ! Even Harry has just said on an interview they were both pens !!! Still it's history now let's just make sure we spank Liverpool at stick it to Lawro Otbc Ilwt
