I came in about an hour or so ago and popped on Not606, but I've a little confession to make... I'd thought, for some reason, that the game was this evening, and I've just been on the BBC website and accidentally noticed the result and thought the Beeb had screwed up. It took me all of 10-20 seconds to realise I'd screwed up. What a fool I am..! Mind you, I did the predictor about 20 minutes ago and put 2-0 Saints down.
Forums and highlights are now safe. Someone told me that some idiots were calling Radio Solent calling for Adkins head after Saturday's result. Do these people know anything about football?
they were. As I drove away from the game angry and fed up with the result, not the performance, NegHeads were ringing in calling for Nigel to be sacked. Embaressing.
I know what you mean , but that is a myth . IF we had beaten MANU that day , we would have stayed up .
Exactly, and what a scary, scary thought that is. One win and two draws! We'd be able to smell the PL. COME ON BIRMINGHAM!
You know that and I know that. Their capitulation effectively relegated Palace, not us. But try telling the deluded Pompey few that.
That game against ManU was followed by some bad times, but if we hadn't had that, we wouldn't have had these last 3 enjoyable seasons.
I agree with you there, Fran. I felt it was like the end of the (footballing) world when we went down from the PL and then went into admin in 2009 (when the 10 points were deducted I prepared myself for a long time in the lower leagues) and it was a long time before I could even watch Match of the Day, sad person that I am. But, that was the indirect catalyst for these last two great seasons. Ironically, I have not been able to see most of it 'live' as it were, due to work (and lack of work at times) plus being in and out of the country a lot, but even following from afar, it has been great.
It is looking tougher and tougher for West Ham with Birmingham and Leicester in good form and Brighton wanting to remain the play offs and Bristol City fighting for their lives.
I really don't tend to fret about results with the present team and setup at the club. Even after the Pompey result I wasn't too disappointed. In fact, Nigel's words of... never get too up when we win, never get too down when we lose... comes to mind. I think I've well and truly exorcised the old Saints fan in me. Incidentally, Rickie's up for interview on Radio Solent next.
Slagged of Sharp for not passing, like really had a go at him. Then at the final whistle the players game over to us, Guly tho walked off in a hump to go down the tunnel. But Adkins pulled him back to make him come over to us.
