Surprised at Lambert, Butterfield and Chaplow starting, let's see how some of them cope today with 2 games in 3 days No Guly either
tbh, I thought a few more would have been rested, perhaps Martin, Harding and Barnard could come on at some point to relieve them a bit
We cant really afford to rest players though guys I am afraid but if we get 3 points today and West Ham and Reading drop points it will be worthwhile.
It is a risk, but every game carries a risk, its how you manage it. Every game is worth the same 3 points yes, but on a bad pitch in wind and rain and with such a short recovery time from Saturday, players are high risk for injury. A lesser 11 should still win today. Supposing we put our best 11 out and players got bad injurys. One game is not worth the risk of ruining the crucial last few games of the season, when we DO need our best 11 out. Correct selection from Adkins IMO.
Palace XI (v Southampton): Speroni, Clyne, McCarthy, Dikgacoi, Scannell, Zaha, Moxey, Parsons, O'Keefe, Martin, De Silva Subs: Ambrose, Garvan, Murray, Price, Inniss
Granted Frankimus! However I think your not treating Palace with the right amount of respect or maybe call it caution this is a potential banana skin and I would rather have 3 points today than risk everything on beating Reading buddy.
Ultimately, Butterfield over Richardson is a decision that we probably had to make for that reason...it's the one position where we really can't afford to have a tired player out there.
I don't get all the Butterfield hate lately? At the start of the season, most of you wanted him as No1
