i don't know why your complaining, if that was Drogba in Young's placedrogba would of done the same and even worse if it was torres , Torres would go flying to the floor like he's been shot

United do get a lot of decisions, but it's not just you, it's big teams in general. However, blame should not be assigned not only to the football clubs but also the incompetent authorities that run the game.

Now he's learned his lesson I fully expect Mason to be trotting out in the May sunshine at the Theatre of Dreams as United march on to another well-deserved Prem title. Hopefully Webb and Marriner will be there to clap him on too.

I'm not complaining at all. Just disproving the ridiculous notion that you lot have about Drogba's goal costing you the title. The reason you didn't win the title that year was because you didn't have enough points. In other words, you weren't good enough. Live with it.

Nah, you're right. That match had no bearing at all on the title race... <laugh>

QPR turning up in a defensive formation to try and ground out a result does not justify Ashley young cheating and getting a player sent off. So can I advise you to shut your f*cking mouth you arrogant pr*ck

Minimal contact is still contact and you often hear former strikers saying that because of that contact, the striker has every right to go down. Whether or no that is the right attitude is up for debate. But as soon as you put your hands on an opponent, you are running a fine line with fouling them.

What's not up for debate is the fact that Young was offside, so any contact made by Derry shouldn't have mattered.

And Drogba was offside when the free kick came in. Just one of those things unfortunately.

True, and pretty much any striker will do the same in that situation. Sad but true - whenever they have the opportunity to take a tumble in the area most strikers will take the chance. I didn't think it was a penalty, but if you put your hands on a player then you take the risk they will sell the contact to the ref.

Yep. Also, imo even if it had been a penalty it shouldn't have been a red card. Young was moving away from the goal and didn't have the ball under control, so a bad decision on three counts. But then the players rarely get everything right in a game, so I'm not sure why people expect the referees and assistants to...

    ^^ <ok>

How many times have we heard the players or ex-players say that as soon as they felt the contact (leg, thigh, foot) from the defender, they went down? Others would say they would deliberately make contact with the outstretched leg of the defender and fall and get a penalty, even though they could have avoided the contact and others stretched THEIR leg to make contact with the defender or GK.

It is tough for the referees and I think sooner or later they will need video help.

Regarding OT, there is no doubt that the linesman should have just said offisde and the game would have carried on. His decision (or non-decision) was appalling.

Having said that, I would have expected United to win comfortably. We wont know for sure of course but I cannot imagine them holding a further 75-80 minutes and they were posing no attacking threat of their own.

As for you Daff, you still haven't told me how the Drogba goal cost you the title. All you've done is hide behind other poster's comments with the word "yes".
