  1. This is the first bright piece of news surrounding the Toon we've had in ages, i actually feel a bit optimistic again.

Ben Arfa looked awesome in his first start at Everton. He scored a goal, played a beauty of a through ball for Nolan, but Nolans toe nail was offside, and played another good through ball to Nolan and as a result Nolan was taken down from behind and should have a had a penalty. He looks more like an attacking mid than a winger to me, but either way, he showed all that he could in his first 80-90 minutes or so.

I hope we take this chance to really push on and into those Europa spots, as this way we'll be able to keep the likes of Ben Arfa and Tiote. As i've said, we've played like a team that should be around 6th-7th, but our defense has let us down and we've lacked the quality upfront.

In my opinion, we need to really get a better defensive coach, another quality CB, another 1 or 2 creative mids for to keep the squad depth, and another stiker.

This season has been up and down, next season is when i reckon we'll really let the PL know what we're all about!

    TOON!

Quality CB - Hangeland?, Samba, Roger Johnson/Scott Dann?, Ryan Shawcross, Gary Cahill? PL-based proven quality CB's.

1/2 creative mids - Ireland(on form)? and Ronald Vargas?

Striker - Stud-man, Gervinho(versatile), Gamiero?, Sow?, Pav?, Macheda?, Wolfswinkel, Welbeck(Just a thought), etc..?

    Who's Stainrod...?

I'm proud of the way the club has acted with Ben Arfa, shows a real closeness and not simply looking at the footballers as a product (something that the current regime have been guilty of with regards to fans)!

I have no doubt people will have noticed it and it'll have raised our profile in France, but howay lads, French Internationals turning round and saying "what? they let him go home? This Newcastle sound great, can I join?" is ridiculous!

Stainrod is his agent, who speaks English and does his PR for him since he doesnt speak it yet.

We're not saying the likes of Benzema and Gourcuff will be asking for moves but Newcastle and the Premier League have a lot of pull in Frnace, Graham Carr was saying he could name several players in the Champions League in France who would move to Newcastle tomorrow if they were offered.

I don't doubt that mate, I was genuinely shocked by Ben Arfa's move here, he's a huge name and I wasn't sure we still had the pull to bring lads of his calibre in, clearly we do, so I'm sure we could pull in a few more, same with Dutch League players...

My point is, players aren't going to start asking if Newcastle need new lads, purely on the back of our handling of Ben Arfa!

As I said, all good news is great and I do think that this will lead to a positive reception in France, but I just think that one statement is stupid!

Good stuff, still going to be a while before he's fully fit and it's not worth rushing him back into first team action.

Yeah He might be good at that as he is quiet a tidy fast player so preserve him as all the opposition is tired, he can come on and score or set up one.

I loved the article about how French players admired the way Newcastle have gone around the injury situation and have been given a lot of respect! <ok>
