Mancini was given it on a plate. Countless millions, and he spent big, buying in far more players than he could ever use. He indulged his playboy Arab owner's spending-frenzy, when he ought to have stuck to some basic principles. I'm sorry, but if you cannot win with a stacked deck, then you are truly useless. On the other hand, Queen Kenny has presided over the worst Liverpool season in 70 years. The one-time legend of Klanfield now has the disgraceful reputation of having relegated his beloved 'Pool to mid-table obscurity. And let's not forget that Kenny blew a few million quid, himself, on building a team of donkeys. That takes a special talent. So, who is the worst of these two? Personally, I think it's a tough call.
Toss up ( pun intended!) between AVB & Mcleish. Mankini running in third. Oh! Honourable mention to the scouse royalty, too.
This is a two-horse race. Anyway, did anyone really expect Villa to do anything special this season? Really? A lot of teams have under-performed, but that has probably been down to the skewing effect that 'Pool, £ity and the Chavs have had in the market place. Even we were unsettled by the Moddy tapping-up debacle.
This is a two-horse race, between Mancini and Kenny. There may have been other managers who have done badly, but I want to know who you think has been the worst, out of Mancini and Kenny.
I think you're being harsh on Kenny as if you look at the stats of the liverpool games, and add in all the times they hit the woodwork (convert them to goals) and then take away the goals the opposition scored then they would be in the top four so clearly the future is looking good for Liverpool with kenny in charge.
The same could be said for us, though. What with all the shots we've had on target and haven't won the game. If we'd converted even a tenth of those chances, we'd be above £ity.
HIAG, have you visited the liverpool board? you may be surprised (or not) to read how many fans actually believe Kenny "slowly" builds team and the games they have "dominated" and hit the woodwork countless times, shows they are on the right way to building a great team. they are that deluded!
Oh, yes! I have had many a joyful excursion over on the Mousers' board. It is truly astounding the excuses they have manufactured for Kenny's dismal reign. None of them seem to mention the fact that Kenny is now officially the worst 'Pool manager in living memory.
Kenny by miles. Never, ever seen someone spend so much money (what was it, £100mill or something?) on such a useless bunch of ****ty players. I think Mancini has done reasonably well. Yeah he's spent a lot and has effectively lost out on the title, but there's little he could do about Man Utd's unity and team spirit which has been built up over many years. Mancini has been stuck inbetween a rock and a hard place really. To try and overhaul Man Utd with some urgency he has no choice but to spend big on star signings, but most of these star signings are prima donnas who are very difficult to manage and very difficult to instil that team spirit into, so what can he do short of being given at least 4-5 years to build a side from the foundations up?
The £ity fans are talking about Mourhino being installed. Perhaps his massive ego will be sufficient to dominate those in his squad. However, if he he goes in, I wonder how many of the current squad will still be there beyond next season? Very few, I would have thought. When do the fair play rules kick in? Does the rich Arab playboy owner have sufficient time to try to buy himself glory, at colossal expense, for a second time of asking?
Man City this season have been like Chelsea or Arsenal in seasons past - bullying teams and winning by three/four/five goals in the early season, but dropping off come March. Annihilating teams in September means nothing if you can't beat teams come March. It has to be Dalglish - he assembled the squad to his specifications, it's just the specifications that worked for Blackburn in 1995 have been out of date since 1997, and he hasn't adapted.
Can't argue too much with any of the nominations. However, for me, AVB just shades it. What a ****ing disaster he turned out to be for the Chavs
Much as I dislike the whole City thing and the negative Mr. Mancini; getting second and a CL place is progression. If next season they win the league and make a last 4 CL effort ok, in theory he should keep the job. It depends who Mr.Oil thinks he can get to replace him. Kenny has played a very poor game from the start and the signings should have seen him gone in mid season. Cast iron: Dalglish gets my vote as the worst of the two. The King will soon be dead, bring on the clowns.
I suppose a certain Mr Comoli will deny all responsibility for any of the signings, not to mention the outrageous overpricing, too?
The thing is, the signings are the type of player that Dalglish wants - just like Hutton and Bentley were players Ramos specified he look out for.
