So where do you think Chelsea will finish?

    #41
  2. 3rd Chelsea
    4th Arsenal
    5th Spurs
    6th Toon

However it will take some guts from Arsenal to do it - any repeat of the bottling of the last 4 seasons and we will lose out on CL football.

That's funny Jayram I had the exact same thing with us only above you by virtue of one goal.

I had all 4 teams finishing on 70 points. I fully expect Newcastle to be right up there.

Vital win today for us. We should win our next 2 at a canter and that should be enough to lock up 3rd spot <ok>

ohhh yes, very very important win for us today, we now face Wolves and Wigan, two very very winnable games, winning these 2 games takes a lot of pressure us off when we face Chelsea. but having said that we have been playing very very good against the big teams, and if we play like this 2day, we will smash chelsea.

I think that's more hopeful thinking than anything else, especially the Wigan result. You might be right, but we should be clear favourites to win that also after being Norwich, West Brom, Liverpool and Swansea away on the trot.

In the form table, we're actually 3rd place being Man Utd and Arsenal, so it's wide open. And after the 4 wins in a row, I honestly have no idea what to expect. We could even go on an unbeaten run during the remaining fixtures. It's unlikely, but with Chelsea looking wobbly and Man City losing faith in the title race, we could beat either of them if we turn up and give 110%.

    Chelsea:

    Fulham away - draw
    Arsenal away - lose
    QPR home - win
    Newcastle home - draw
Liverpool away - win (Liverpool are dire atm)
    Blackburn home - win

    = 11 points

    Arsenal:

    Wolves away - win
    Wigan home - win
    Chelsea home - win
    Stoke away - draw
    Norwich home - win
    West Brom away - win

    = 16 points

    Spurs:

    Norwich home - win
    QPR away - draw
    Blackburn home - win
    Bolton away - draw
    Villa away - draw
    Fulham home - draw

    = 10 points

    Newcastle:

    Bolton home - win
    Stoke home - win
Wigan away - win (too much firepower up front despite Wigan playing well)
    Chelsea away - draw
    City home - loss
    Everton away - draw

    = 11 points

So that would have the 3, 4, 5, 6 as:

    Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea, Newcastle

On this, Spurs JUST might do it...

Cisse is going to rip them all up.

God is going to rip them all up.

  12. Spurs are now only 3 points ahead of two clubs looking to take CL football away from them. It's all very close, but the prospect of us finishing 3rd and Spurs missing out is very exciting indeed. It would be fantastic. Still not certain ourselves though, so first priority is beating Wolves.

5th / 6th will be determined by the result when Chelsea visit St James Park.

Nice to know you care so much <ok>

  15. Of course I care - I want nothing but failure for Spurs. Can't blame me for that.

Not sure what to make of todays game, but if Spurs draw and we win, we'll be 1 point behind them. If Spurs lose and we win, we'll be level on points...

    Big IF's mind.

  17. If you both win, and Chelsea do too its all to play for again <yikes>

Chelsea have the toughest game today

Looks like the battle for getting 3 and 4 is proving to be more exciting than actually winning the league! I'm rooting for Newcastle to do it but once they get a proper sniff of 4th place, we'll see if the toon can keep their nerve...

Our game against Wolves just got a bit more spicy, it was already important to win, but with Newcastle winning again, we need a win to maintain a gap over them, plus with Spurs dropping points, it will be good to move away from them, and I also see Chelsea dropping points.

2 big winnable games for us: Wolves, Wigan.
