I hope holt refuses to be interviewed from now on by BBC, and lambert for that matter - or give one word yes no answers to questions.
Why take Rooney though? Is he really world class? Yes, he might be good at club level, but what has he ever done in tournaments for England? Besides, with his suspensions, there's a chance he won't get a game anyway.
theres no point in him coming if we can't get resulst in the first two games. We need a goalscorer, we have a goalscorer. Lawrensons done holt the biggest favour possible. Everyones talking about this now, he's openened pandoras box.
What about if we loaned Holt to one of the 'big' clubs straight after the last game of the season, for say 4 weeks? Would he get picked then?
You're right. I'm sure Luke Hyam will be playing for England before Holt is! As much as I think Holt is better them some of the players who will go to the Euros, and I do honestly think he could do a job for England, he is not a long term option, and really England should be following the template set by teams like Germany and use young players, hence Welbeck and Sturridge will be at the Euros instead of Holt even though Holt is probably better. The real travesty is that John Ruddy isn't in the England squad.
I'm not sure that many Norwich fans disagree that Crouch derserves a place. There is room for both Holt and Crouch. I love how all the bitter scum fans are hell bent on finding reasons why Holt shouldn't play for England. Ask yourself honestly, if he was your player and had scored the same amount of goals in the EPL, how would you feel then... I guess you're still bitter about Holty humiliating your team on national TV.
I couldn't care 2 ****s about the England team in all honesty! I just find it funny that you bang on about Holt being picked for England when he's only had 1 season in the Premiership Marcus Stewart scored the most goals of any English player in 1 Premiership season but we didn't bang on about him being picked for England.
To me, thats a better call. A keeper is a keeper is a keeper no matter what style the other 10 outfielders are playing and whether that style merits a call up for Holt. Ruddy has proven he is more than capable and while he wouldn't be 1st choice, I don't think there would be much wrong in putting him on the bench for England.
Exactly! For the guy to of had to play in a defence which once boasted the CB pairing of Leon Barnett and Ritchie de Laet and still be outstanding says everything. He might not be as good as Joe Hart, but he could well be second best.
I would be very surprised if Holt got picked for England because he plays for Norwich the smaller club players often get over looked in favour of players that have moved around for large amounts between stable PL clubs. I would have no problem with a Norwich player being called up as long as everyone is English INCLUDING the manager they have my support but try to cheat with a foreign manager and my support leaves with our Integrity.
Just to compound the incompetence of the MotD experts an article has appeared on the BBC site with Hansen, Shearer, Lawrenson, Dixon, Nevin and Savage all predicting who will win the league and who will go down. For weeks now Lawro and the two Alan's have been saying QPR will avoid the drop despite their run in and Blackburn will go down yet in this article all three say Blackburn will stay up and QPR will go down. They're about as consistent as a Premier League referee http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17588745
I'm disgusted that we all pay money to keep this ****ing **** in employment and whilst we're at it lets throw that prick Hanson in there and that boring ****e Shearer too. Fed up with MOTD it can **** right off.
Lineker should ask Lawrenson if he'd have enjoyed facing Holty when he was playing - that would probably get a more definitive no than the one he gave last night. Come to think of it I remember him being a distincly average centre half whenever I sw him play. Hansen was pretty good so at least has some credibility but is still incredibly biased towards Liverpool and Shearer was superb in his day as a player but is as bad as Hansen and Lawrenson when it comes to being a pundit. Both Holt and Ruddy deserve their chance in the Euros - compared to their competitors for places only Rooney and Hart stand above them this season performance wise but I bet that still won't be enough to get them both on the plane
All being idiots as far as I can see... Lawrenson was very complimentary. You lot see what you want to see and are going after one word and not the thirty or so that went before it. It was the first time in weeks that Norwich have put in any kind of performance and I thought he got it all spot on. The other thing is that you assume because it matters to you that everyone's talking about Holt as a contender... they're not.
I watch him every week and I see a guy that could be good for England The only time you've ever seen him play is when he ripped your pub team to pieces WHO'S BIASED?
The whole point is he criticised Norwich fans for claiming we don't get enough coverage then bleated on about Jelavic for the whole analysis and when he was asked about anything Norwich related he gave a one word answer. Last night he had a particularly bad night, maybe it was the fact Liverpool failed to win again, who knows, but he seemed in a foul mood and he let that get in the way. That doesn't excuse the previous 31 weeks of **** punditry though.
Turn on the radio. open newspapers and turn the TV on, then you'll see everyone is talking about him as a possible contender and if not, why not. I haven't heard one proper reason why he shouldn't be given a chance. All I've heard and seen is player x is better or player y deserves his chance more. If the 2nd highest English goalscorer doesn't get a CHANCE, then they may as well make a rule that the England manager can only pick from the top ten teams in the country, oh and some mid-table Turkish team and a Championship team.
