We wouldn't need to make keepers look good if we learnt to be more clinical. Coaching a problem? We'd be top if we could take our chances

He deserves a chance. 13 goals in 19 Premier League starts and he has scored at every level now, so why not international.

He won't be given a chance though - he knows it, we know it and the whole ****ing world knows it.

It's about time you repaid us with a player or two though. When you take Snoddy and Aidy White, as part fo the deal can we please have Holt and some of your players who can't make the team, who are probably still 5 times better than our crud?

There's no doubt I'd love to have Snodgrass, and Lambert would too, but now your boss is Warnock - who hates us - we stand little chance.

If you want a ball-winning midfielder, I'd go for Crofts, as he was very good at Championship level, but hasn't had the same impact this season. Certain City fans think Hoolahan will be off in the Summer (I'm not one), if he does go, I'd break the bank to get him. Chris Martin is apparently impressing on loan at Palace and he knows where the net is, so you could get him.

So we could be feeders of each other - Johnson, Howson, Snoddy and White to Norwich from Leeds - Crofts, Hoolahan, Martin to Leeds from Norwich. I'd be happy with that.

Simon - they are going anyway. Why would you not swap them for players who have proven pedigree in getting promoted, and together in one team? Priceless. Go get 'em Colin.

Arguably, Hoolahan and Snodgrass are equally as good as each other, you need another ball winning midfielder and Chris Martin scores goals if he's played on a regular basis. We'll chuck in Leon Barnett for free.<ok>

He's now starting to shine in the Premier League, so no deal.

Martin would never get played on a regular basis and I'm happy with Brown at the moment. And I disagree with 666 about it being a foregone conclusion that Snoddy and White will leave. If Snodgrass goes I don't see us having much chance of promotion next season no matter who else we get in.

No problem with you disagreeing <ok>, but don't agree with you.

My view is that, with Snoddy over the last 3 (or is it four?) years, what have we done?

Got out of League 1! That is it. Last year, finished outside play-offs . This year, mid-table and piss-poor all the way through.

Other teams that did not have Snodgrass have been promoted every time. If we can get good money for him and it is available for the squad for players such as Hoolahan and Martin, or how about just a straight swap for those two without money changing hands, in my opinion that gives us a better chance.

But without Snoddy we would have been significantly worse off, and you don't improve by letting go of your best players. IMO swapping Snoddy and White for those 3 Norwich palyers would leave us worse off. You get promoted by adding to your key players, not replacing them.

The problem you have is that quality players like Howson and Snodgrass will want to prove themselves at the highest level, and while I'm sure Howson would of preferred to play in the Premier League with Leeds, he had to leave to better himself. Unfortunately, the same will happen with Snodgrass. He may not move to us, but I fear that he will leave in the Summer.

Because the problem with Leeds United exists in not being able to hold onto the few truly talented players we get. Every transfer window, it's start again from scratch. Every time you sell a good player you have an uphill battle trying to get someone in of equal quality to replace them, who may not even perform at their new club when the player you sold was a sure thing. bates doesn't even try to see the problem in selling our best players, thinking the money that never gets put back into the team is enough to justify it.

The problem isn't directly in selling the player - it's in struggling to find a replacement, which we do, and will continue to do, until the club starts paying transfer fees. The additional weight of the effort to get in a suitable replacement for a player we've sold - no matter how big the transfer fee is - is enough to put a strain on any clubs transfer dealings. That's time, effort and money that could have been spent getting in a player of equal quality who would complement the current team. Instead it's wasted trying to find a replacement for a player who should never have been let go in the first place.

It is a catch 22 these players see others leaving, they watch who comes through the door and they realise the club (Bates) lacks REAL ambition to get us back in the premier league so they stall on their contracts. It gets to within 12 months and we sell them. Howson would have stayed had we shown promise and had we managed promotion, instead we have to cash in on him then the likes of Snodgrass see the message going out (when a club sells a young, best years ahead of him captain) and rightly so thinks do I want another three years of this? Players want to play in the premier league, you can't blame them for moving on from a club that shows such a lack of ambition.

Look at the fee's we have received for Howson and Gradel, peanuts because we panic sell them rather than give them a decent contract and if our hand is forced sell them within a time scale that suits the club.
