I parked near ground on a side road last time was fine, is a nightmare with traffic getting to it though took me 1 & 1/2 hours and I only live 40 miles away.
Can't see Nigel resting any players he doesn't have to. No point in taking the chance of not getting 3 points tomorrow, then not winning/drawing on Friday anyway. Don't want to chase the title and miss out on automatic...3 points on board, tick off another game and hope WHU drop points. Only way to go.
Going up with my palace supporting uncle, before going our seperate ways into the home and away sections. Should be a great game with 6000 saints getting behind the lads, cant wait to wind my uncle up on the way home after we get the 3pts.
Fair point but beating Reading isnt necessarily for the title, it could be for 2nd, West Ham are not out of it yet. Palace and Reading could turn out to be equally important, but alternatively the Reading game could turn out to be a season decider, we just dont know yet. Field a winning team against Palace yes, but exhausting key players for a potentially promotion deciding game wont help.
Reading and Crystal Palace are both worth 3 points...why not go all out for the best chance of a win. Mind you, I'm not saying we can't beat Reading at home because obviously we have a good chance of that.
Not sure it will go down too well, but I don't think Lambert should play. He didn't look fit yesterday and we really need him back to his best on Friday. Palaca play with direct wingers, overlapping fullbacks and 3 in the middle, so I think we will need to match them up to get a grip on the game. .....................Davis..................... Richardson...Fonte...Hooiveld...Fox ..................Hammond.................. ..............Chaplow...Cork............... Puncheon...........................Lallana .....................Sharp..................... Rotation as necessary with regard to fitness. Possibly Lallana in front of the midfield rather than Hammond behind it, but either way we have the extra body that we need. Keep the ball in the midfield and have Sharp sniffing around for an opening. This could be a time to give young James Ward-Prowse another break as he's been to Selhurst before and will be well supported. 6000 Saints fans creating a cracking atmosphere.
Yeah exactly. What i meant was theres no point beating Palace with the best 11 and risking fatigue and injury when a lesser 11 would do the job just aswell. I dont mean put the kids out, just maybe the Hardings, Martins, Barnards etc could be included
It is a balancing act which is why Adkins has the job and, quite frankly, he's welcome to it. The man must never rest.
All games are 3 points to be won. Had we beaten Blackpool and Portsmouth, we'd be 5 points clear. Every game is a must-win.
I know we should rest players but there is only 5 games left! We just have to go for every game! Cup final style with nothing to loose NA has to play the strongest line up!
If there was a bit more of a gap between Pompey-Palace-Reading i would agree. There is a higher risk of injuries in these fast runs of games. One more strategic play from Nigel in the selection for Palace is needed before we start the all or nothing cup final run of games.
I think that we should simply have more midfielders on the bench tomorrow to rotate if necessary to keep fitness levels high. Maybe Chaplow will start on the right to add energy and the we could have Guly, Puncheon and De Ridder to toss into the fray.
I watched the highlights of the derby game again last night and on reflection I think that it was not as bad a performance as I thought and such games are always anomalies. Mind you some people on here completely overreact when we lose, just as well Adkins keeps calm. Also great to have a game so close after it to put it out of our minds.
