llorente should have been bought 2 years ago or more. at 27 hes got 4 years in him and then no sell on value compared to the vast sum (40mil) he'd cost.

good but not quite right, we need someone at about 24 if we're putting that money in.... sadly if carroll had the attitude and desire he could be close to llorente.

You are way more than 4 new players from the top 4 more like 7 or 8 and without CL to attract anybody top quality you will have to do like Citeh and pay Mansouresque wages to get them to join.

I can see you making additions but the problem is all the teams above you will strengthen as well, it all depends how much your owners are prepared to waste (sorry spend).

You should still make top 8.

There's no way Liverpool are 7/8 players away from the top 4. The back line and keeper are good enough, Gerrard-Lucas-Kuyt are good enough and Suarez is good enough. So what they need is a poacher, a class midfielder and some cover in certain departments. They've got some good prospects but they need people who can perform immediately.

Well thats a load of bollocks, the spine of our team is made up of players that were part of the team when we were top 4. Reina, Skrtel, Agger, Carragher, Johnson, Lucas, Gerrard and Kuyt were all regularly starting when we were in the top 4.

Adam is not top 4 standard.
Downing is not top 4 standard.
Henderson is top 4 squad standard.
Carroll is top 4 squad standard.

^RW, LW, ST, HM. Everything we've been shouting for since Christmas.

"You should still make top 8." Well thank god you've given us that prediction, I was starting to get worried.

Good luck with attracting your top players with your wage caps! <ok>

Ze its also bollocks because Spurs got the backbone of their present team/squad before they got CL football.

Or is the bellend doubting the quality of the Spurs squad.

The wums are getting worse these days.

Matt Jarvis, Junior Hoilett (already mentioned), Bolton's Petrov, Malouda (doesn't really get a first team chance at Chelsea), or you could try get a winger from abroad, but no disrespect the majority of player brought in from abroad to Liverpool don't quite cut it in the EPL. ie, Maxi, aquillani, babel, voronin, etc

I like the idea of Jovetic. 12 goals in 16 games this season for a struggling Fiorentina. If not possible then Dempsey could be a cheap alternative.

I'd like to see us go for Guiseppe Rossi too, if he is still as good as he was before his injury. Other options for upfront include Giroud (sp?) from Montpellier, Fletcher from Wolves, Hooper from Celtic or Falcao from Atletico (my favoured one but not sure how realistic it is)

Maxi who scored two hat tricks last season and sunk Chelsea this season? Doesn't play enough PL games is his problem. Aqua man got a few assists in the little he played in an injury plagued season...Voronin...free...no one expected him to do anything...he was **** before, **** with us and **** after. Is this the majority of our foreign players then? What about Kuyt? Alonso? Suarez? Enrique? Agger? Torres? Mascherano? Lucas? Reina? Wums are really awful these days, no substance.

Supposedly two of liverpool's top targets (targets, meaning we'll try to sign them but it's not guaranteed) are Muniain and Soldado. Info from a guy who is normally very accurate with his information - would love to know who his sources are since, for a team who keeps things indoors, he's normally right or very close to.

Anyway, looks like FSG are being ambitious for the summer.

Both good players and both strikers we would then have 4 strikers not counting Kuyt who would make 5 so maybe it's 1 of those players other than both.

I see muniain more as an attacking midfielder and Soldado is a different type of player to Suarez or Carroll which gives us options. So with just those two, you could have a potential front 4 of:

    -Muniain-Gerrard-Suarez-
    ---------Soldado--------

We're after both, but we can only guess on who'd be leaving (if anyone) to fund that. Anyway, just a rumour on our targets, but I'm not led to believe it's one or the other - hence the comment about FSG's ambition :)

Also, it's entirely possible we get neither despite our interest :D

Is this off another forum or what? I just can't see us getting Muniain or Soldado tbh. Bilbao are doing **** in the league but I feel theyll want to stay another year and see where it takes them in the league. So I'd say Llorente, Martinez, Muniain etc are all off bounds for now. I can see Soldado leaving Valencia if Emery goes though, but maybe better teams than us will be in for him?

I know what you mean, speculation will be rife and we will probably sign completely different players in the end. Here's hoping they will be up to scratch.

I'm not getting dragged into speculation this year for this reason. Last year there was a lot of speculation about Enrique, Downing and Adam from January. This year we are completely in the dark....signings are likely to be as surprising as Henderson etc....don't think anyone has a clue who we are chasing.

As it happens, I agree. I don't think we're front runners to get either of them and I'm not sure if we'd get them even if we were the sole interest. However, the interest is there and they're two of our top targets. Soldado is more likely than Muniain imo, especially given Bibao's UEFA run and the chance to build on that. You can't fault the ambition though :>
And yeah, a poster on another forum. Like I said, he's usually very reliable with his info.

A couple of links that have stood out a little extra to me are Gaston Ramirez and Luuk De Jong.

i'm really not trying to be a so called WUM. Apart from Suarez and Enrique who were brought in recently a lot of players brought in over the last 2-3 years have been poor. thats why your not challenging for the BPL anymore. Alonso, Torres, mascherano were top players but they haven't been replaced. And you can't say Aqualianni got a few assists. He was woeful and maxi had a good 5 game spell or so when i got a hat rick at fulham but apart from that he's been pretty quiet. I think if you are going to bring players in from abroad they need to be proven. Like Munian from Bilbao.

He's got 18 months left and we've just offered him a new contract for another two years. Free? <laugh>

The guy is a midfielder and is the fifth highest scorer in the league, if you want him then £15 million upwards please.
