For the moment - but my question still stands. 'Bottling' implies not having the balls to do something you are actually well capable of. If Arsenal are better than Spurs, how are we bottling it even if we finish behind you....
Well, we're having a bad season - if we continue with our season long form it will be our second or third lowest points haul in the last 10 years. You were miles ahead of us. On that basis you were indeed 'well capable' of getting more points than us. If you don't finish above us from that position, you really will have bottled it.
Are you having a 'bad' season because you are a good team who have 'bottled' it or are you just a bad team. Do you see the point I am trying to make? I think the league table at the end of the season will be a good indication of the relative merits of the teams taking everything into account. A team with high skills who don't win crucial matches due to their mentality is no better and no worse than one who loses the same amount of points because of lack of skill.
@Power Spurs, regarding your signature, we would have been relegated if Palace won 20-0 or something, right?
I am not arguing who is better. Spurs had closed the gap over the last few years and by the end of 2011 were a better team all round. We've started the fight back. All I am saying is that from the position you were in, it would be a complete collapse for you to finish below us.
I think it is 7-0 actually - but I'm obviously on the wind-up with that one - quite an interesting fact though and true in 1976 as well
To be honest having 2 offside goals is a bit suspicious. Chelsea are a very poor side. If I use my head and not my heart then its obvious spurs are way above them. however chelsea get the luck and the decisions.
Nothing - absolutely nothing - can be as suspicious as Utd's penalty today with the QPR defender sent off. The officials may well have decided the title today and by not giving a penalty against Utd last week. There could be a 4-5 point swing just with those two decisions. The most pathetic thing is how it keeps happening and is continually brushed under the carpet with phrases like 'luck evening itself out' or 'the refs have a difficult job'
It was calculated that if luck evened itself out last season, Arsenal would have finished 2nd. Today's ManU penalty was one of the most ridiculous I have ever seen. Just be ready for referies to be instructed to give a similar one to ManCity today " to even out the luck".
I don't think City will get a decision like that today - the penalty today for Utd was given to ensure they got a big advantage over City. Don't forget they have to play each other, so the less left to chance the better.
Boy that penalty decision was the worst in a while. Terrible decision and obvious in real time. To be miles offside and then never a penalty is a joke
