It's fantastic to see the new boy Perez and his fresh attitude and maturity His debut has generated for me the type of excitement I felt at Lewis' debut Like Lewis he has beaten his more experienced teammate, by doing something very special for a rookie, to pit once only when all around you are panicking because of the new tyres and the degradation I am particularly happy that the Latin world finally has a worthy representative who is noble, a sportsman and a real racer Montoya was the last such person and I think he was unlucky to leave as Lewis arrived I look forward to seeing some fantastic racing from young guns that represent the global nature of the sport Vettel vs Kobayashi vs Hamilton vs Perez vs Petrov
In years to come they probably will be the championship challengers, but what about Kubica, di Resta and Maldonado?
I am talking about trailblazers and baton carriers for new global audiences, hopefully those three will do well also but I am glad Russia now have a hero, Japan have a hero The Latin world now have a noble and respectable hero with a fresh attitude untainted by scandal and corruption
You posted this on 606 as well you jackass. I really think you just need the attention or something but your a complete waste of space.
Jacky_Ickx;268490: I came here because I thought it was an interesting thread. I have not visited BBC 606. I am therefore grateful to CookinFlatSix for writing this innocent and interesting article. However, thanks to you, I will now delay writing the thoughts his article has provoked. What is wrong with posting the same thing on different sites? Not everyone has all the time to visit all the sites do they? And why call him "jackass" and "waste of space"? Comments like that are downright offensive.
Im going to assume you have never come across cookinflat6 or his new 606 pseudonym "naturallyaspiratedflat6" He is on the same level of posters as thsporam, f1fan01, cobwebs, etc etc. I wouldn't mind if he was honest about his intentions for the article and certainly the article has the potential to be quite noble, but the thinly veiled barbs directed at Alonso destroy the entire post. ll Leone is another classic example of this, great and inforative article ruined at the end by a barb in the direction of Schumcher, Ferrari or Alonso. They cant help themslves. Praise the mentioned drivers yes, this their any need to start firing venom at Alonso? simple answer is no
I'm surprised nobody else had noticed this was a dig at Alonso. I'd prefer it if you didn't bring your grudges from 606 over here though mate, threads like this are subtle enough to ignore; as the saying goes, "don't feed the trolls".
That's a wild assumption. I read it as an anti team order article which Alonso, Massa and Barrichello have all been involved in. "untainted by scandal and corruption", well they have all been haven't they? Given we have apparent team orders as recent as Sunday involving two latino drivers (and another one took out Rosberg) I think the article is quite apt.
Well, I for one saw (and still see) no dig at Alonso there! If there is, its subtlety has gone straight over my innocent head, since he did not refer to him as either "jackass" or "waste of space" to make it clear enough for me. And according to what you've said, it looks as if my absence from the BBC 606 site was quite justified, since I enjoy a proper discussion without personalised abuse. Now, back to the point of my visit to this thread, I agree that Perez made an astonishing début and have very recently said that he has made a similar impact as Hamilton's arrival in F1, albeit in a lesser team. Kobayashi made a similar recent impact. It is also true that we have a very exciting crop of drivers with the likes of Petrov who is putting in some solid performances. Obviously Alonso is there too along with Button and other World Champ's which give us probably one of the highest quality grids for two decades. Perez is indeed a breath of fresh air and his unassuming demeanour during the BBC's red button coverage was very impressive. All in all, I fail to see how anyone might not be thoroughly impressed with this guy, who was very unfortunate to lose 'his' points, through no fault of his own.
Jackie It is sad that you feel the need to transport your indignation and venom from forum to forum As you never fail to remind everyone on 606 that you are a graduate trainee management consultant and so this affords you the skills required to analyse posts, create projections and decide which are wumming or not 606 is closing due to this type of ad hominem attack Please keep your grudges and neurosis to yourself, it's not fair for members on a new forum to have to deal with graduate trainee experts in business
I see we have some fighting from the 'Old' 606 going on here. Very petty... When this forum was created and the first of us started the F1 community, the motto was pretty much everyone starts from fresh. most of our members have got on with that and dropped the wumming and offered interesting thoughts. Some didnt and were dealt with. If you havnt already I suggest you read the house rules: http://www.not606.com/announcement.php?f=152 I dont want to have to 'sin bin' somebody over a race weekend now back onto subject please... El_Bando
One is not allowed to post a riposte to a personal and misguided attack? Sin binned over a race weekend? and in the meantime?
Sin binned over a race weekend, I love that idea! with May getting ever closer looks like that could come in very handy come race weekends, we all know people need to let off a bit of steam, but for those bastards who won't give up, you have been warned!!
I felt that frisson of excitement I got at school when I was threatened with not just detention but Friday detention! So till next weekend I am ok but just before FP1, I will be hauled up and sin binned Oohh but I was so naughty!
