Yellow and Red Lion

Can't wait to take a look next time I am over.

I used to have the occasional pint in there on non-match days and often after an away game when we were using the club coaches. And I always felt that it got a reputation that it didn't really deserve.

There's not really much competition in West Watford after all.

 

I think it will look great once it is finished. Such a shame the cabinets were not the right ones when delivered, but Price hopes they will be sorted for next time. It was great to see some legends in there.

I managed to get a sneak peak on the thursday night which was very nice. Although to say that Smart was pissed would be an understatement, he had had about 10 pints of "smart arse" apparently. He was colourful to say the least. He wanted a taxi home but no-one knew a number for one so he was cursing and swearing a fair bit lol.

 

I trust that he was paying as all of the profits are going to the club.

 

What lager on tap do they have? And how much do they charge??

 

So, here are the pics..3rd time lucky! I had to take them through the window coz i wasn't allowed in, it was too full (though it doesn't look that full actually! And why is it still called the Red Lion?

My dad and i wonder if there are issues with the brick work. How much of it is listed?? Cos if it is a listed building then they wont be able to remove the tiles saying Red lion. But i dont know about the rest. I meant to ask Price, but he was very busy!

 

oh! no idea Dan...but surely they could paint the signs, even if they can't take them off the wall lol

 

It depends. One of the grades means you cannot alter the exterior appearance at all. So who knows.

 

ahh, right! I figured they'd just run out of time...

 

That may be the case too. I think we just have to wait and see

that's true...maybe they'll just do a little '^ yellow and ' at some point lol
