Larsson did look like he dived today i agree. However, yesterday guiterrez done dive after dive even one dive a second after the ref had already blew in addition he also picks the ball up after his dive basically deliberate handball/ when will refs start to book the bloke?

I'm not saying forget it I agree players should be booked for diving and larsson quite rightly so. However, every time guiterrez gets it he dives just wondering when one day the refs will realise he is never actually been fouled.
I really hate to say it mate, "it's the changing face of football, and sums up everything that is going tits up in the game" Every team have them sadly....but the money at stake is so big, one dive can lead to one penalty, which could lead to one goal, which could lead to one win, which could lead to 3pts, and at 800k per place...that one dive could be the difference of huge sums of money... It's all wrong...
This...I prefer football to be a full-blooded affair, but as it stands, when a player makes contact, when a player pulls on a shirt or uses too much of their body to win the ball, its a foul, and fouls result in free kicks...I don't think Gutierrez 'dives', he goes down far too easily and far too theatrically for my liking, but there is almost always undeniable contact...If you'd disagree, I'll happily accept it, but I want video evidence of Gutierrez going down without contact first!

No matter who you support, diving is not good for the game, when Klinsman went to Spurs, and started diving, his own supporters booed him, he sharp stopped. would like to get it out of the game, but how?
Players should be cited for it and the incident reviewed by independent panel with suspensions, for 45 minutes perhaps, e,g only available for the second half of a game?
It's a tough one...If you're running full pelt and someone gives you a slight push/shirt tug, you could easily lose your balance and go down...Declaring a difference between that and someone going down on purpose after a slight push/shirt tug is where it will difficult to differentiate! Also, there's no point in us doing that here and then having the Italian/Spanish teams going on training weekends to Tom Daly's house - needs to be consistency throughout!
OP, I don;t know why you had to bring up Newcastle into this when talking about your own player, but I agree, they need to give retrospective yellow and red cards to people who dive. Obviously, it's important to know the difference (and I know a lot of you struggle with this) between a dive and going down too easily. Nothing wrong with the latter IMO as it is the fault of poor refereeing that it is necessary in the first place.

To what exactly may I ask? If a player is fouled and doesn't go down, referees rarely give it. Therefore, it is necessary to go down when the foul is made to ensure you get the free kick you deserve. Diving is totally different, as it is conning the ref into thinking you deserve a free kick that you really don't. Comprende?
CTR you failed to mention any case of there being a 'foul' in your original post, implying that players going down with minimal contact can be justified however minimal. This might not neccessarily be 'diving' as you have set it out to be, but it is still conning the ref and therefore cheating. Comprende?
Larssons dive today was pathetic. He deserved to be booked and was. End of. That said, Foy was a fooking disgrace today for both teams. Why are refs so up their own arses these days?
I thought Larsson was fouled as the defender stretched his leg out to block his path. Larsson made a meal of it and as far as I'm concerned that isn't acceptable. As fans of SAFC we take pride in supporting players who don't feign injury, unlike some other clubs.
I can't decide if he was clipped, but it's clear he was a bit dramatic, so for me, it's a yellow. I'll not be slating the lad, but I won't be blowing bubbles up his arse like some teams might...
