When we signed him from Lazio for £28.1 million pounds, i was excited that we signed a world class player, in a way you could say we were buying the finish article, his form in the premier league wasn't good enough, although he did score some crucial goals for us like against Tottenham in the 5-3 game, and against Everton at home, but in the champions league, he was class it was like his game was suited to europe a bit like Michael Carrick in a way ( that's not a slight on him, i'm a fan of his ) the best game he had in a United shirt in my opinoon was against Arsenal at home, i think we were missing Roy Keane ( correct me if i'm wrong ), we put him and Phil Neville in midfield, Paul Scholes was up-front with Ruud Van Nistelrooy, the game finished 2-0, with him scoring the 1st goal of the game, in the pre-season tour of 2003, he did very well, was performing well, and was settled into the team but when the manager sold him to Chelsea for £15 illion pounds that was great business by the club to think we paid nearly £30 million pounds 2 years before, his career went downhill after he left, although he did join Inter Milan on loan and went back to Argentina.

In my opinion we could've won the title if he had stayed with us but that's hindsight for you, also we would alot of champions league with him in the team but that's abd luck fo you.

He went back to Estudiantes. Won the South American version of the Champions League in 2009. They lost to Barca in the world club cup. He was meant to retire last year, but he changed his mind and is still playing.

He just didn't fit in. Not many Argentinians have fitted into the Premier League and possibly even fewer players have had a successful transition from Serie A to the Premier League.

That's true, plus they don't like the british weather maybe that's why they don't succeed ( stupid reason i know ).

Yes. Class player and he was outstanding for Lazio. Up there with the best when he was playing for Lazio.

He was a world class player and as Berbs said he just didn't fit in. Sometimes it doesn't just work out.

The only thing I really remember about Veron was his goal in our 5 3 comeback win at White Hart Lane.
